Chapter 540

Chapter 540

“Mr. Warner, did the Quill family detain you for causing Madam’s miscarriage?”

Bradley took a drag from his cigarette and replied coldly, “Yes.”

“Bradley, are you even human?” Kevin grabbed his things and stormed out, muttering curses under hisbreath, “If I ever get involved in your affairs again, I’m cursed!”

He was a human, a doctor. Why did he help Bradley do such terrible things just because Esther lovedhim? Her love for him didn’t give him the right to mistreat her!

Jonathan watched Kevin leave and felt a pang of jealousy. He wished he could just walk away.

Bradley finished his cigarette and extinguished it on the table. “Give me paper and a pen.”

Jonathan quickly complied, handing over the requested items.

With a firm grip on the pen, Bradley forcefully wrote four characters on the paper, spelling out “Will.”

Jonathan held his breath, not daring to make a sound when he saw the letters.

In the quiet visitor’s room, the only sound was the scratching of the pen on paper. Initially, Jonathanhad thought Bradley was faking advanced-stage liver cancer to gain an advantage in the divorcecustody battle. But watching him draft a will while still in his prime stirred empathy in him, man to man.

Bradley handed the completed will to Jonathan.

“Safeguard this will.”novelbin

Jonathan solemnly accepted Bradley’s handwritten will, nodding seriously.

“You have my word, Mr. Warner.”

Bradley rose from his seat with indifference and departed.

As he observed Bradley, a man once brimming with vitality but now diminished, Jonathan felt a swirl ofconfusing emotions. He proceeded to arrange Bradley’s medical parole, only to find out it had beendenied.

Upon stepping through the gate, Bradley was met by several tall, imposing men. They stood andgrinned menacingly as they closed in on him.

Bradley smirked and thought, ‘Looks like these nobodies all think they can have a piece of me.”

In the small room, a flurry of blows echoed.

“How dare that Warner kid lay a finger on Mr. Pendleton!”

“Right, Mr. Pendleton is their sole heir.”

“But I heard the Quill family is scheming against him…”

“That’s elite business. We don’t need to understand it. Let’s just do our jobs.”

After a while, Bradley unleashed the pent-up anger that had been simmering. He took a seat and coldlyasked, “Did the Pendleton family send you?”

The battered and bruised men had expected an easy job. They hadn’t anticipated Bradley to be such aformidable adversary.

“Yes, sir, we’re from the Pendletons.”

“Please spare us, sir!”

“Sir…”

Bradley’s cold, unfeeling gaze met theirs as he issued a chilling command, “After you leave here, perform a task for me.”

“Tell us what to do, sir. Anything.”

Serving a strong leader held more value for these men than any amount of money.

“Kidnap Esther Quill and take her to the island in Southeast Varnusia.”

The men exchanged nervous glances, hesitating as they replied, “Sir, Ms. Quill is protected by the Quillfamily. We wouldn’t dare…”

Bradley grinned malevolently, and his eyes turned cold. “Useless creatures have only one fate: death.”
