Chapter 485

Chapter 485

As soon as Tanya heard the question from the opposing lawyer, she quickly figured out what they weretrying to do. They wanted to muddle the trial’s direction.

“Your Honor, I’d like to question the opposing party’s witness.”

“Proceed.”

Tanya walked to Liliane, took a deep breath, and asked, “Ms. Anstey, did my client, Ms. Quill, initiallyknow that Felix was her biological son?”

Liliane struggled internally for a moment and answered honestly, “No.”

Tanya let out a sigh of relief. She was worried that Liliane might lie during the trial.

Fortunately, Liliane still held a basic respect for the law.

“Ms. Anstey, did my client eventually donate bone marrow to Felix?”

Liliane instinctively glanced at Bradley’s lawyer and answered, “Yes.”

“Thank you. I’m done with my questions.”

Tanya smiled and nodded at Liliane. She was very satisfied with her answer.

“Your Honor, I request our witness to testify.”

“Granted.”

The moment Clark appeared in the courtroom, Bradley stood up in shock. ‘How could he be here?’ hewondered.

Bradley’s legal team didn’t anticipate Tanya successfully convincing Clark to testify. They had askedClark before, but he had refused. They never thought Clark would show up as the opposing witness.

“Mr. Tonks, when did my client find out that Felix was her own flesh and blood?”

Clark took out a recording and played it right there. The recording captured a conversation betweenLiliane and Esther inside Felix’s hospital room.

There was also a video from Felix’s hospital room, although it lacked any sound. To decipher theirconversation, Esther had enlisted the services of an expert in lip-reading.novelbin

As Liliane listened to the recording, her hands clenched tightly, and anger surged through her. She hadknown that Esther was deceitful!

Why hadn’t Esther met her end in that hospital? If only Esther had died back then, Liliane would nowbe Bradley’s wife. If Esther had passed away at that time, her biological parents might have beenspared from imprisonment.

Liliane’s phone emitted a buzz. While the trial was ongoing, her phone had been on silent mode. Now,she instinctively glanced at the incoming text message.

[Flight tickets ready. Leave the country immediately.]

Liliane was utterly baffled by the message. She had attempted to call the mysterious man, the callswouldn’t connect. Additionally, her phone received a reminder from the airline.
