Chapter 447

The entire “Frontline Scoop” crew faced suppression from unknown forces, and the team wascompletely overhauled.

Alice was tactfully demoted to the head of a shopping channel with incredibly poor ratings. This meantshe could no longer investigate the illegal organ trade case, and her exclusive report on the matter wasovershadowed by more explosive news.

Fewer people were interested in the illegal organ trade investigation as they were drawn to moreexciting stories.

Alice had never anticipated that her work would expose such sensitive interests of certain individuals. After much contemplation, she reluctantly accepted her job transfer and put all matters related to theillegal organ trade on hold.

However, upon receiving Esther’s message, Alice carefully considered her options before finallydeciding to call her and arrange a meeting at the Sanderson family residence.

Alice herself chose the location.

She arrived at the Sandersons’ early in the morning, tired. A diligent maid woke Esther, who quicklychanged clothes to join Alice for breakfast at the Sandersons’.

“Alice,” Esther greeted her.

Alice raised her hand in greeting and casually pulled a new business card out of her holder. Shehanded it to Esther, saying, “Ms. Quill, this is my new business card.”

“You can’t continue as a reporter anymore?” Esther understood Alice’s situation the moment she sawthe title on the card.novelbin

“Not being a reporter is quite liberating. I was getting tired of risking my life for such a thankless reality. Now, I have a stable office job and even got promoted. Soon, I’ll be moving into my dream apartment, and I plan to get a cat and a dog as well. Every morning, I’ll be able to leisurely make a cup of coffeeand watch them play…”

Despite Alice’s attempt to sound cheerful, Esther could sense a tinge of bitterness in her voice. “I’msorry,” Esther was not sure what to say and could only apologize awkwardly.

Alice laughed heartily. “Why are you apologizing? You didn’t do anything wrong. Oh, by the way, isPixie really not your daughter?”

Esther nodded, saying softly, “Three consecutive DNA tests all came out negative.”

“Have you considered the possibility that someone deliberately switched Pixie’s samples?” Alice asked.

As a seasoned reporter, Alice fully understood the significant influence certain hidden powers exert. Forthem, altering a DNA test sample could be as effortless as a casual gesture.

“I have considered it. That is why I want to return to my home country and start investigating the sourceof all this,” Esther replied.

Apparently, Alice had done her research on Esther. She thought for a moment and handed her a USBstick. “Here, take this.”

Esther asked in surprise, “What’s this?”

“The information you need.”

“Is it about the illegal organ trade? Or is it about Pixie?” asked Esther.

Alice shook her head and said gravely, “Neither. It’s about that video of you in the hospital. With thisvideo, you can clear

your name.”

Esther was slightly taken aback and asked hesitantly, “When did you collect this?”

“You played a crucial role in the illegal organ ring case. To guarantee your safety, I gathered

this data as a precaution against any potential retaliation. Surprisingly, I stumbled upon

something intriguing. Take your time to review it once I’m gone.”

Alice indulged in a gourmet breakfast prepared by the Sandersons’ renowned chef.
