Chapter 408

Chapter 408

They started preparing supper then. Making ravioli was not complicated, and Esther was quite skilled atit. She mixed the dough and set it aside to rest before starting to prepare the filling.

Esther planned to make both meat and shrimp fillings for supper, but she didn’t intend to make toomany.

“Jacob, come and help me.” Esther handed the minced meat filling to Jacob and said gently, I’vealready added the seasonings to the filling. Just stir it vigorously in a clockwise direction.”

“Okay.” Jacob had never done housework before and did not even know how to stir the mixtureproperly.

Esther had to stand behind him and patiently taught him how to mix the filling holding his hand.

“Alright, I got it.”

After mixing the filling, Esther taught Jacob how to roll out the dough and close the ravioli.

Esther did not know how wealthy families like Jacob’s usually interacted, but she did things like thiswhen she was with Felix.

Tonight, Jacob experienced many firsts-his first time going to the mini market and his first time makingravioli.

Esther cooked the ravioli and placed two bowls in front of Jacob. “Jacob, I put a coin in some of theseravioli when I was closing them. Let’s see who’s lucky enough to eat the ravioli with the coin.”

Jacob silently picked up his cutlery and tasted the shrimp and meat ravioli in his bowl. The ordinarymeal felt like an extraordinary delicacy to him, perhaps because it was the first time. he had personallymade it.

Jacob only found the coin when he ate the last raviolo.

Esther’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Wow! You found the coin! That’s great! You can make a wish withthis coin now, and I’ll fulfill it.”

Jacob looked at the coin on the napkin and then at the bowl. He had noticed that Esther had madesubtle markings on the ravioli to indicate which one had the coin rather obviously.

“I want to hear a bedtime story,” he said.

Esther hesitated momentarily and said softly, “I’ll tell my son bedtime stories anyway. This doesn’tcount, so you can make another wish.”

After a long pause, Jacob said, “I’ll tell you when I think of it.”

“Okay.”

Jacob did not eat much due to his health. After washing up and changing into his pajamas, Esther saton a chair beside his bed.

Only a reading lamp was left on in the room.novelbin

Jacob handed Esther a new copy of “The Little Prince” and opened an old, dog-eared copy of ”

The Little Prince” for himself.

Esther’s gentle and soothing voice filled the room. Unknowingly, Jacob fell asleep, and the book in hishands fell to the floor.

A photo slipped out from inside the book as Esther bent down to pick it up. She was shocked to thecore when she saw the person in it!
