After the doctor examined Felix and confirmed that he was weak but otherwise fine, he kindly asked,“Did you wake up because your mother arrived, Mr. Felix?”
Felix nodded proudly, his small face beaming “Yes”
“Now that Mr. Felix is awake, I suggest engaging in more physical activities to strengthen his immunity,”the doctor said.
Following the doctor’s advice, Esther and Felix took a stroll around the island after breakfast.
Other staff members lived on the island, including gardeners responsible for tending to the flowerbedsand professionals dedicated to the farm. They all carried out their duties with dedication and
professionalism.
Esther led Felix through the orchard, hand in hand. The air was filled with the fragrance of jackfruitshanging from the trees.
Curious, Felix asked, “Mommy, can we eat the fruits from the trees?”
“Yes,” Esther indulged him. “Would you like to have some?”
“Yes.”
Esther approached the accompanying housekeeper and softly inquired, “May we pick one?”
“Of course ”
The housekeeper contacted the staff through the intercom system, and they brought over a lift. Estherand Felix stood on the lift and personally picked a ripe jackfruit.
“Mommy, it smells so good! How do we eat it?”
Esther gently shook her head. “I don’t know either.”
The housekeeper chuckled and explained, “You can watch how we extract the flesh later.” Felix’s brighteyes focused on the housekeeper as he asked, “Ma’am, can I do it myself?”
“No, because you don’t have experience and might damage the flesh,” the housekeeper replied
As a result, Esther and Felix observed like two curious babies while the staff extracted the fruit’s flesh.
“Mr. Felix, please have a taste.”
Felix tried a piece of the jackfruit, and its sweet fragrance made him close his eyes in bliss.
“It’s so delicious.” Felix then fed a piece to Esther and sweetly said, “Mommy, you have some too.”
“Okay.”
After enjoying their share, they headed to the seashore to collect seashells.
Amidst the roaring sound of the waves and noticing there was no one else around, Felix cutely asked,“Mommy, when are we going to find Daddy?”
