Chapter 2024

Since Mary and Andrius were already on their early’ honeymoon,’ Rosalie started planning herhoneymoon with Byron.

It was almost winter break, and the kids were free.

Taking the opportunity that she was in her early months of pregnancy and could move freely, Rosaliebegan to pick the destination.

Byron readily agreed. Since he had been dedicated to Lawrence Corporation for years, it was time toreward himself with a break from work.

Of course, he had deliberately said that in front of Benedict.

After all, Benedict had dumped the responsibility of the company to him when Benedict was in his 40s.Since then, he had been living a leisurely life, expecting his son to do the duties.

Melody joined the conversation, suggesting a few suitable places for families with kids to travel.

Suddenly, Benedict gave everyone a blow of disappointment. “Rosie, I think this is an inappropriatetime to travel. After all, Gordon’s condition is uncertain!”

Rosalie was startled and finally remembered about Gordon. She smiled bitterly.

Gordon had not paid attention to her for more than ten years as if she were dead. Of course, she wasnot accustomed to considering him now.

‘Til give him a dry-needling session today and accompany him to the hospital for a check-up. Let’s seehow the tumor has developed,” Rosalie responded calmly.

Benedict and Melody both nodded.

Byron comforted his wife, “No matter what, let’s be with him at the last moment of his life. We’ll do thebest we can.

There are plenty of opportunities to travel in the future!”

“Okay… Let’s go on a family trip when this is over. It’s easier for both of us to take care of the babywhen Mom and Dad are with us!” Rosalie looked at Melody and smiled.

Melody did not expect that and was flattered. She nodded and agreed. “Okay! Benedict and I will beresponsible for helping you look after the children.”

That afternoon, Rosalie and Byron returned to Rosalie’s family mansion.

They asked the maid about Gordon and knew he was doing fine. He ate and slept regularly. When hisgastric situation struck him, he would take his medication, and the symptoms would be under control.

Rosalie saw a big wedding photo on the wall when she entered the room.

It was Gordon and her mother’s wedding photo.

Apparently, it had been reprinted. The colors on it were bright.

Rosalie’s mother’s smile was so sweet and happy in the wedding photo. At that time, she probablythought she was the happiest woman in the world.

However, no one could have predicted that Gordon, who promised to love and cherish her all his life, would betray her after a few years.

She cried until her tears dried out and her body fell ill.

Looking at this photo for a long time, Rosalie felt anger burning within her.

Gordon was staring at the wedding photo blankly.

Then, a painful expression appeared on his face as tears rolled in his eyes.

“Rosie, I know my mistake now. I shouldn’t have been greedy. Greed has brought me nothing. Ibetrayed your mother and disappointed her. I want to die soon and meet her in the afterworld toapologize to her.”

Gordon had completely broken down, and he cried.

Rosalie felt ironic listening to his remorseful words. She walked out of the room and calmed herself.Otherwise, she would not be able to treat Gordon.

The maid cautiously approached Rosalie and reported softly, “Mrs. Lawrence, your father has beencrying every day these days. He keeps saying, ‘Sorry for the wedding photo!'”

Rosalie sneered upon hearing it. “Is that so? All you all have to do is mind your own business!”

What was the point of realizing his mistake, repenting, and apologizing before he died?novelbin

Her mother would not be alive again!

Whether Gordon was sincere, he would not have a chance to repent. He lost the chance! What he haddone to the family had left a scar on Rosalie. The scar would always be there!
