Chapter 1753 Why Aren’t You Leaving?
The assistant could only shut his mouth since Old Master Lancer had flared up. He was afraid he mightpiss Old Master Lancer off so much that he would pass out again.
Meanwhile, Xander rushed to a pier on the outskirt of the city. He had a silver suitcase with him andnothing else.
Last night, after gaining consciousness, Xander was aware of the seriousness of the matter.
If he stayed back, Byron might not let him off easily even if the police did not arrest him!
Therefore, Xander planned to escape overnight and had already arranged everything.

Thinking of this possibility raised panic in Xander. He took out his phone and wanted to urge the peopleresponsible for bringing the ferry over.
However, he soon realized that making a call would expose his location. Thus, he gave up on doing so.
“Damn it. Where are they?”
Xander could not help cursing as he tried to find a new solution.
Just as he was about to leave, a honk sounded behind him.
Xander felt relieved and turned to look at the ferry approaching the shore.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Lancer, our ferry was caught in a bit of a storm on the way. That's why we're late."
The captain greeted him eagerly and apologized respectfully.
Xander glared at him and asked, “When can we depart?”
The captain said, “We can leave now. Immediately!”
Then, he held out his hand to help Xander board the vessel.
Xander snorted coldly upon hearing that answer and boarded the ferry.
The captain walked behind him, looking at Xander’s back as he heaved a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, he managed to arrive before Xander left. Otherwise, he did not know how he would explainto that man…
“You can rest here while I tell the crew to set sail at once.”
After leading Xander to the lounge, the captain spoke a few words before leaving.
Xander did not think much.

He opened the suitcase slowly and examined the papers and cash inside.
However, there was no sign of the ferry leaving even after he had checked everything.
Panic grew in Xander. He stood up and wanted to check on the situation.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw the captain rushing to the lounge.
“What’s the matter? Why haven't we set sail?"
Xander asked anxiously.
The captain wiped away his cold sweat in a panic and repeatedly apologized, “I’m sorry, Mr. Lancer.Our ferry suffered some damage in the wind and waves just now. There's a small part that needsurgent repair. Please wait patiently as the crew gets it repaired."
Suspicion grew in Xander upon hearing that excuse.
