Chapter 1683 Does Estie Know
Suddenly, Chloe did not know how to react. The only he talked about was marriage.
At the same time, Melody overheard Byron just as she was about to serve them tea. She was surprisedtoo.
She thought that her son was being emotional and that he would change his mind after meeting Chloe.
She never expected that he would propose.
On top of that, he did it so bluntly!
"Byron, what’s the matter with you? Why did you suddenly propose to marry me?"
When Chloe came back to her senses, her intuition told her something.
‘Something must’ve happened for Byron to do this!
‘What is it, then?’
Melody paused at Chloe’s question and looked at her son in puzzlement.
‘I’ve asked him repeatedly, but he wouldn’t tell me. Now, even Chloe thinks so. There must besomething wrong.
‘I wonder if he will tell Chloe the truth.’
She was waiting at the kitchen door.
She thought Byron would say something. However, after waiting for a while, Byron unexpectedly turnedhis head and looked over.
The mother and son’s eyes met. Melody was taken aback for a moment. Then, she placed the cups onthe table as if nothing had happened.
"Have some tea. Let's chat while drinking!"
With that, she wanted to sit down beside them.
Byron interjected. "Mom, would you please excuse us? I want to talk to Miss Lincoln privately."
Melody paused. The expression on her face froze. "What is it that you must say without me?"
She was displeased.
Byron did not intend to explain.
At that point, the atmosphere was tense.
Chloe quickly spoke up to ease the situation. "Auntie, I crave that little snack you made. Is it okay ifyou..."
Melody finally gave in. "Alright, you both carry on. Auntie will make you some snacks."
Then, she turned around reluctantly and went back to the kitchen.
Byron and Chloe continued talking.

However, she could only hear chatter but not the specific content.
More than half an hour later, Melody became restless. She could not help but stop what she was doing.She wanted to go out and have a look.
She exited the kitchen to see them get up from the sofa. They looked like they were planning to go out.
"What is going on?" Melody looked at them puzzled.
Chloe smiled at her. "Sorry, Auntie. I'm in a hurry. I may not be able to enjoy your snacks today, pleasesave them for me. I'll come back another day."
‘In a hurry?’
Melody glanced at her son suspiciously.
Byron met her gaze and said indifferently, "I'm taking her to sign the marriage certificate. I've alreadyinformed the Civil Affairs Bureau, and they will only wait for us for half an hour."
He turned his head and glanced at Chloe, motioning her to hurry up.
What they talked about just now was unclear, but Chloe did not seem fazed at all. Instead, she pickedup her handbag cooperatively and walked quickly to his side.
The two walked toward the door, one after the other.
Although Melody was happy that her son would marry another woman as she wished, she wassuspicious at the fact they seemed so urgent that they would not even wait half an hour.

Byron did not turn back. "I'll tell her after I get the certificate."
