Chapter 961: Be Good

Chapter 961: Be Good

Camille rested her chin on her hand, lips slightly pursed. She said, "Maybe he missed me too much?"

"Oh my god, do you even know what you're saying? How can you say something like that? Aren't younovelbin

shy anymore?" Sienna covered her face, pretending to be overly dramatic.

Camille shook her head at her and said nonchalantly, "You've had your fun. Let's get back to work."

The two of them continued working until it was time to leave for the day.

Camille usually drove to work herself, but Ayan had instructed her to go home with Sienna after work.

Rex happened to be picking Sienna up, so Camille rode with him back to Franklin Bay.

When they arrived back at Franklin Bay, it was already dinnertime, and the maid had prepared the

meal. Timmy was playing happily in the garden, running around, and when he heard Camille's voice,

he immediately ran over, excited.

Camille bent down to pick Timmy up and kissed his cheek, as she always did. She asked, "Was Timmy

a good boy today?"

Timmy nodded, "Yes, good boy."

Camille gently pinched his cheeks, and a smile played on her lips. Her eyes were fixed on Timmy as

she asked, "Were you happy at daycare today?"

Timmy replied, "Happy, flowers."

Camille didn't quite understand. "Flowers?"

"Flowers, nanny, flowers." Timmy looked at the nanny, who quickly took out a small red flower from her

pocket and handed it to Camille. She explained, "This is a reward from daycare. The teacher gave

Timmy a red flower, and he kept saying he wanted to give it to his mommy."

Camille took the small, unremarkable red flower into her hands. It was tiny and had no special features,

but Camille could feel the warmth of the gesture. After all, it was the first gift her precious son had given

her.

She felt touched and extremely happy. She gently kissed Timmy's forehead and said, "Thank you,

baby."

Timmy could sense Camille's happiness, and he was very pleased himself.

That night, before bedtime, Ayan video-called again. This time, he wanted to see Timmy, but Timmy

was not interested. He only greeted Ayan briefly and then insisted on watching cartoons. Lately, the

daycare had been showing them educational cartoons, so he wanted to watch them every night.

Although Camille was worried about his eyes, she couldn't help it. He grew up day by day, and she

couldn't deny him the opportunity to learn.

So, when Timmy ran off to watch his cartoons, it was just Camille and Ayan on the video call. Camille

smiled slightly and said, "I'm sorry, our son doesn't want to chat with you. So, you're stuck with me."

"That's fine," he replied without a hint of disappointment. Instead, he seemed quite content. Why was

that?

Camille was momentarily surprised and asked, "Aren't you sad?"

"Not at all. I'd rather he didn't chat with me," Ayan said seriously. His deep, affectionate eyes were fixed

on Camille as he added, "Honestly, I prefer chatting with you."

Camille let out a small huff, not mincing words. "But what if I don't feel like chatting with you anymore?"

"Are you really that heartless?"

"Yes."

"In that case, go rest or spend time with Timmy. I've gotten used to it. You don't have to mind me," he

said casually.

Camille burst into laughter, finding it incredibly amusing. Oh, what a character he was!

Leaning against the sofa, Camille fixed her gaze on Ayan and quipped, "Are you serious? But don't tell

me that if I really hang up later, you'll accuse me of being biased and heartless."

He remained silent, his eyes fixed on Camille, and there was a hint of displeasure in his gaze.

Camille prodded further, "Why the silence?"

He sighed softly, his lips curving into a subtle smile. "What's there to say? Alright then, go and spend

time with Timmy."

Camille chuckled heartily. "You're really cute."

She used the word 'cute' to describe Ayan, and for a moment, Ayan's eyebrows furrowed slightly. His

eyes carried a hint of indifference as he said, "I don't like that word."

"Why? Is it not good to compliment you as cute?"

"Do any men like being called cute?"

"Those who don't appreciate it just don't understand. But you're different. I think you get it," she said.

With that said, she changed the topic, asking him, "How's everything going with the matter?"

Although they had only been apart for a day, Camille felt like it had been ages since she last saw him.

They had developed habits when they spent time together, and once those habits were disrupted, it

became increasingly uncomfortable when they were alone.

Her longing grew with each passing moment.

Ayan briefly summarized the current situation. He and Kian had plans to visit Modest Temple Hotel in

person. The reason for choosing tomorrow was that they had managed to divert Mr. Bell's people,

leaving only their own team.

Camille whispered a couple of instructions, urging him to prioritize safety.

The video call was about to conclude. Just before hanging up, Camille's voice turned soft, and she

admitted, "I miss you."

Those words she spoke were gentle and tender. Ayan, for a moment, felt like he might have misheard.

But when he realized that they indeed came from her lips, his gaze towards Camille turned deep, and

his voice grew lower, filled with resonance. However, before he could respond, Camille took the

initiative to end the video call.

It had become somewhat awkward. While phone calls or voice messages were fine, video calls felt

intimate and personal, making it a bit uncomfortable to discuss certain things face to face.

After ending the call, Camille stashed her phone in her pocket, intending to check it again before

bedtime. She didn't want to confront those blushing words Ayan had sent just yet; it would leave her

feeling utterly flustered.

Camille headed upstairs to find Timmy, but Ayan's heart remained unsettled.

Camille rarely used such endearing words with him. She was rather slow to warm up to affectionate

expressions and found them somewhat difficult to utter. So, when she did say those few words, it was

undoubtedly driven by intense emotions.

With narrowed eyes and an unmistakable hint of a smile playing on his lips, Ayan sent a few more

words to Camille, "I miss you too, but I'd rather hear you say it to my face. Can we talk when I get

back? Face to face?"

He sent the message and didn't wait for a reply. He knew he wouldn't receive one.

Ayan called Kian and told him, "No need to wait until tomorrow afternoon. We'll go first thing in the

morning. Have the secretary arrange for us to visit the villager' home in the name of their local

investigation. We'll go to Modest Temple Hotel after their people have left."

Kian was somewhat surprised as the original plan was to head directly to Modest Temple Hotel. Given

Ayan's sudden change of heart, he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Simpson, why the sudden rush?"

Ayan, without giving Kian a chance to prepare, calmly asked, "You and Yessica haven't officially

become a couple, have you? How's your interaction with her progressing?"
