Chapter 942: Hope

Chapter 942: Hope

Preston thought about what Molly had done to him, and a heavy coldness appeared on his face. He

said, "No, I won't. I'll use any means necessary to make her come back and apologize to me."

He seemed confident and assured, and then he stopped talking much, turning and heading downstairs

in the elevator.

He took a van, inconspicuous, arranged by Patrik a couple of days ago. He drove from the apartment,

heading towards the outskirts of Flento City. During this period, he remained cautious, noticing that

nothing unusual occurred along the way.

If he wasn't clear that Ayan wouldn't let him off so easily, he would have wondered if his thoughts were

mistaken.

After all, the police showing up in the evening was not his imagination; it had actually happened. He

didn't believe this was a coincidence either, as things weren't usually so conveniently timed.

But why weren't Ayan's people tracking him now?

Preston couldn't understand this point, but he didn't continue to delve into it. Instead, he drove along

the highway, heading towards Hance in the van.

At the same time, in the Franklin Bay villa, Ayan was still in his study dealing with Simpson Group's

work.

Recently, because Kian wasn't around, his workload had increased. He had been working late most

nights, sometimes even when Camille woke up after a nap, he would still be in the study. Camille would

personally cook supper for him.

Tonight was the same. Just after finishing supper, as Camille left with the dishes, his phone rang.

Ayan picked up the phone and answered. Kian's voice came from the other end, "Mr. Simpson, Preston

has left the apartment. Should we have someone follow him?"

"No need. Following him would be a waste of time. He only dares to drive away from Flento for now.

So, there's no need to worry about him running away. Cora is still in Hence, isn't she? He wouldn't miss

the opportunity to cooperate with her. Cora can't leave now. He can't come openly, so the only way is

for him to come to Hance and find Cora himself."

Though the locations of the two cities weren't far, it would still take around two days by car. After all,

Preston was alone, and at this time, he couldn't rest for long while on the run. So, he wouldn't be able

to cause much of a stir in these two days.

Kian informed Ayan about Zoie's departure time and location. It wasn't a place he arranged, but one he

got from asking Zoie. Zoie intended to go to France to continue her dancing. She might not come back,

or maybe she would return after achieving a certain level of accomplishment in her studies. However,

she didn't plan on developing her career in Flento and Hance anymore.

For Zoie's safety, Kian personally escorted her to the airport and arranged a specific boarding time to

ensure she wouldn't be disturbed.

After this series of events last night, Kian returned to Hance today.

Since Kian was taking a plane, he naturally would be faster than Preston. Currently, Cora hadn't shown

up with any news yet. Even if they had great power and resources, it wasn't easy to find someone innovelbin

the vast Hance City.

Ayan's only concern now was Cora. As for Preston, he wasn't worried. Preston was on the run without

any effective countermeasures now.

He waited quietly for Preston for a day. The people stationed along the way hadn't seen Preston's trail,

which made Ayan suspicious.

Had his expectations been wrong?

Ayan frowned slightly. His face wasn't looking too good. But he didn't think his speculations were

incorrect. In the current situation, if Preston left Flento and didn't come to Hance, where else would he

go?

He no longer had Molly to rely on. Who else could he count on?

Ayan soon got his answer. Until the last moment, Preston would use all means necessary. He would

surely do whatever it took to protect his interests, and he wouldn't just sit around waiting to be caught.

Due to spending time looking at wedding dress designs with Camille and staying together at home

most of the time, Ayan's phone call with Kian was also heard by Camille.

It was Kian on the other end. Although Kian had just returned to Hance City for a day, he had

immediately immersed himself in work.

Kian spoke, "Mr. Simpson, I had people check along the way. Preston didn't head towards Hance. He

went to Louise's hometown."

"He went to Louise's hometown?" Ayan was somewhat surprised. "What's he doing there?"

Camille, hearing Ayan mention Louise's hometown, involuntarily turned her gaze towards him.

Ayan and Camille exchanged a glance, and Kian's voice came through in a low tone, "Based on the

direction he's headed, it seems he's going to Louise's hometown. We've already checked the

surveillance along the route, but since he's not taking the highway, there's limited surveillance. It will be

slower to trace him."

"Alright." Ayan's expression slightly dimmed, and a trace of cold detachment gathered in his eyes.

Today, he had intentionally chosen a black suit to match Camille's wedding gown fitting. He wore a

white shirt underneath, making his entire demeanor particularly icy and restrained. His voice was deep

and muted to the extreme.

Kian's voice continued in his ear. Kian felt somewhat uncertain about Ayan's plans, so he asked, "Mr.

Simpson, how about we release news that Preston has left Flento?"

"Since he took the initiative to visit Louise's hometown, he must be intending to resolve Louise's death.

Keep an eye on Louise's family situation, see if Preston plans to use money to manipulate the

situation."

Ayan overlooked this aspect, assuming Preston would rush to Hance to meet Cora. However, it turned

out that he didn't immediately come. Instead, he went to Louise's hometown.

This move undoubtedly aims to distance himself from Louise's death. If this matter continues to haunt

him, his actions will remain restricted.

Now that he's already at Louise's hometown, it seems there's hardly any time left for him to take

precautions."

"Since he wants the best of both worlds, let him taste the sweetness first. When he returns to Hance

from Louise's hometown, get in touch with Molly and have her spread how he gaslights Molly."

"Alright."

"By the way, how's Sean recently? He hasn't reacted to news about Preston? Any response?"

"What do you mean?"

"Since Preston's reputation has already been tarnished, let's ensure he has no chance of whitewashing

himself." Ayan's words were light and casual. He had thought that Preston had no way out, but now he

saw that Preston was constantly finding opportunities.

After ending the call with Kian, the police also released a statement about an hour later.

Louise's family retracted the case, stating that they believed Louise's death was a suicide. They

reasoned that Louise had long suffered from mental health issues and had been under immense work

pressure. Thus, she had chosen this method to free herself.

They initially reported the case to the police because of their grief and hadn't realized Louise's mental

state. As time passed, they began to recognize this aspect, and as family members, they expressed

deep remorse for consuming police resources unnecessarily.

When this news was released, internet users naturally didn't believe it. They immediately speculated if

Louise's family had been bribed.
