Chapter 841: Murder

Chapter 841: Murder

Today was Camille's second day in Flento City. Since Mario was taking her and Ayan out for lunch,

they didn't have any plans for the morning. They rested in the hotel until after nine o'clock. There still

hadn't been any news or activity from Sienna's side.

Ayan was on the phone. Even though he was in Flento City, he couldn't neglect his work at Simpson

Group. His phone was constantly ringing, and he was always glued to his computer. He had only taken

a short break yesterday, just for one day. Now, he was already swamped with work.

So Camille was left alone on the couch, looking at the tall buildings of Flento City through the window.

The weather outside was clear and cloudless, but she felt bored, lying on the couch without moving.

She couldn't help but think that Sienna had probably felt the same during her time alone in Flento City.

It made her feel a pang of sympathy. Letting out a silent sigh, she realized that when a person had free

time, they tended to feel bored and start to overthink. Perhaps being busy was better after all.

That way, there would be no idle time for wandering thoughts.novelbin

However, some people couldn't withstand being pestered. Just as Camille thought about Sienna, her

phone rang.

Camille answered with a smile, feeling happy inside. But she deliberately said, "Finally awake? Why

didn't you sleep a little longer? It's already late morning. You might as well have waited until lunchtime

to wake up!"

Just as Camille finished speaking, Sienna's voice sounded somewhat tired. "Cami, Mario can't treat

you and Mr. Simpson to lunch today."

"Huh?"

Camille was a little surprised.

She asked, "Does he have something to deal with?" However, she instantly felt relieved. She casually

said, "It's fine not to be treated. That way, I don't have to face him. Let's have lunch together, and in the

afternoon, we can go watch a movie. We plan to leave Flento City tomorrow because he has work in

Dane City, so..."

"I can't accompany you today. Can you have lunch with Mr. Simpson by yourself?" Sienna's voice

sounded weak, as if she was extremely tired and hadn't rested well.

This made Camille worry. "What's wrong with you?"

Sienna didn't answer directly but said, "Let's talk about it later. I'm really sorry for not taking care of you

properly and not spending enough time with you. Please don't be mad at me, okay?"

Sienna apologized in a low voice, expressing her sincere remorse. After all, she had been the one

hoping for Camille to come, but after she arrived, Sienna hadn't taken good care of them. There was

some guilt in her heart.

Camille quickly replied, "Hey, what are you saying? Do we still need to talk about these things between

us? But you have to tell me if something happened. Sienna, if you can't even tell me while I'm here with

you, then when I return to Hance City, you won't say anything, and we won't know what's going on?"

Camille felt a sense of worry as well. The promise they made last night suddenly changed. If Sienna

had work to deal with, it would be understandable, but she refused to speak directly and her evasive

answers were clearly hiding something. Camille could sense it clearly.

Camille frowned, looking concerned, and subconsciously looked at Ayan, her eyes filled with worry and

unease.

Sienna's response was slow, as if she couldn't

figure out how to answer.

There was a brief pause for more than ten seconds before she spoke softly, "Cami, please stop asking,

okay? Let me figure out how to explain it to you first. But don't worry, I haven't done anything foolish. I

just encountered something unexpected, and I need to resolve it before I can contact you. When you

and Mr. Simpson leave Flento City, send me a message. If I don't reply, it means I'm busy. I'll get back

to you as soon as I can, okay?"

Sienna's response only increased Camille's worry. Camille wanted to continue asking, but Sienna

interrupted, saying, "Well, let's leave it at that. I'm busy now. Have fun with Mr. Simpson, and don't

worry about me. I'm really fine, so don't worry, okay?!"

After speaking, she abruptly ended the call.

Sienna wouldn't act like this if nothing was wrong. Her reaction and behavior made it hard for Camille

not to worry.

With a concerned expression on her face, Camille looked at Ayan and said, "Sienna said we won't

have lunch together. She's scared of Mario, so how could she make this decision based on his

arrangement? Can you quickly have someone check if something happened?"

Camille knew that when she and Ayan came to Flento City this time, although it appeared to be just the

two of them, there were also bodyguards secretly protecting them.

Ayan had already gathered a rough idea from Camille's conversation with Sienna. He walked over to

Camille and reassured her in a low voice, "Could it be that she couldn't tell you because of some other

work arrangement? That's why she canceled the lunch at the last minute?"

"Is there something she can't tell me? There are no big secrets between Sienna and me. If it's just

because of work, she could have directly told me that the work arrangement prevented us from having

lunch. Maybe she would even be relieved that we don't have to dine with Mario anymore. After all, I

know how much she detests him. So, it's definitely not because of work. There must be something

else."

Camille shook her head. She had already sat up from lying down, tightly clutching her phone. She

hugged her knees, her face cold and indifferent to the extreme.

Worry and unease appeared in her eyes, and she couldn't help but speculate, "Could Sienna have

murdered Mario to prevent us from having lunch with him?"

Camille widened her eyes. Although she thought this idea was a bit exaggerated, it was the only

possibility she could think of.

Ayan smiled helplessly and gently placed his hand on her cold hand. In a soothing tone, he said, "Don't

let your imagination run wild. I'll have someone investigate, and we'll wait for the results. But don't keep

speculating. If Sienna really murdered Mario, do you think she would have a chance to call you?"

Ayan caressed her face, his gentle voice making her feel comfortable, like a gentle spring breeze.

His words slightly alleviated Camille's worries, but her expression remained tense.

In front of her, Ayan made a call, and then they waited for the results of the investigation.

His people were quick, and within half an hour, they found out the information.

Ayan answered the incoming call on speakerphone.

The voice on the other end reported, "Mr. Simpson, we've found out that Mario didn't go to the

company today. There's no activity at King Group either. We checked the surveillance at Miss King's

residence. After she returned last night, he went to see her. However, not long after, they left the

apartment together, taking the elevator. Miss King then drove him to the emergency room."

"Due to Mario's special status, the hospital has completely sealed off any information from being

leaked. However, from the video footage last night, it seems that Mario is fine because he was still able

to walk. The injury appears to be on his head. It was too dark at the time, so we could only see

something covering his head, indicating a head injury."

Hearing these words, Camille and Ayan exchanged a glance. Camille's eyes were filled with disbelief

and shock.

However, she quickly grasped a few key words from the response.

Sienna returned to the apartment late at night, but even so, Mario went to see her. What happened

after he found her? The duration of their meeting wasn't long, but within that short period, something

significant must have occurred, something only the two of them knew.
