Chapter 1471: Illusion

Chapter 1471: Illusion

Camille, however, would not be quick to judge the current relationship status between them basedsolely on their expressions. After all, expressions and facial expressions are what others want her tosee, and even sincerity can be acted out. This is why she wouldn't easily believe it.

Camille and Grace got out of the car, with their two bodyguards opening the door, and then followedbehind Camille and the rest of the family into the house.

The Armstrong family's living room is not very large. Although it is a villa, the space is limited, andwith the current number of people, the living room appears relatively small.

Everyone took their seats, while the two bodyguards stood on the left and right, which made theuncle somewhat unhappy.

The uncle spoke up, "Camille, what do you mean by this? Why should we discuss family matterswith outsiders present?"

The younger uncle did not speak up, but had a serious expression on his face.

The two aunts were unusually quiet and didn't make a sound. As for the two cousins, they might aswell have the words "playboy" written on their faces. From the moment they entered until now, theywere glued to their phones, occasionally flashing smiles. Based on Camille's understanding of them,it was nothing more than chatting and flirting with some internet celebrities.

So how could such people manage a company well?

Camille suppressed her displeasure, but did not directly reveal it. She simply looked at the people infront of her calmly and responded, "Uncle, please don't misunderstand. Having them here is to

ensure everyone's safety and to prevent any accidents. They won't speak out of turn. You don'tneed to worry, uncle."

Camille still addressed them as "uncle" with no trace of her inner dissatisfaction evident.

After hearing this, the uncle didn't say much, but his expression still didn't look pleasant.

The younger uncle next to him snorted lightly and said indifferently, "Let's get down to business."

Only then did the uncle speak slowly, "Camille, I have discussed with your younger uncle. Theeldest cousin is the eldest son and heir of our family, and by being adopted by your mother, he willalso become a son of the Armstrong family. This will bring peace to your mother's spirit in heaven."

Camille looked at the people, her gaze scanning their faces.

It seemed they had reached an agreement.

After the uncle finished speaking, the younger uncle and the aunts remained silent, but theirexpressions did not look good.

Very reluctantly.

Camille narrowed her eyes. Her ultimate goal was not to resolve the matter calmly like this, but shewouldn't say anything for now. There was a hint of a smile in her eyes as she said, "Is everythingagreed upon? Since it's all settled, let's formalize the agreement and have a press conference. Itwill benefit everyone. Is that alright?"

Camille's speed caught the uncle off guard, as she had not mentioned their interests throughout theprocess, just the adoption.

The uncle did not respond with a yes or no, but asked, "Camille, I have a question."

"What is it?"

"After the eldest cousin is adopted into the Armstrong family, he will be considered a son of theArmstrong family, right?"

"Of course, or else why bother changing his name? He will just live in the Armstrong family villafrom now on. It's like having a free watchdog."

Camille thought to herself, but didn't show it on her face.

She looked at the two uncles and knew that their wishful thinking would probably end indisappointment.novelbin

After all, she wouldn't let them have their way.

The uncles were oblivious to Camille's thoughts and simply took it for granted that Camille wouldagree to the adoption.

Camille's calm demeanor gave no one any reason to suspect or speculate. She sat gracefully, herdelicate and beautiful face adorned with a noticeable smile. She looked at her uncles and aunts, and after she finished speaking, their reactions were not as expected. It seemed they weren'tentirely satisfied.

Only then did Camille calmly ask, "Uncle, what do you want to say? Was my statement not clearenough?"

The two uncles glanced at each other, then said calmly, "Camille, we understand your intentions, but we want to make one condition."

"Uncle, the adoption was your and the younger uncle's idea. Now, why do you have conditions?"muttered Camille with a sly smile, her eyes showing a hint of mockery but without any hostility.

The uncle hastily explained, "Camille, we don't mean anything else. We just want everything to bemore perfect. The eldest cousin has made contributions to the Armstrong family, and the youngercousin also wants to contribute. We want to ensure that both of them will take care of the family andhave their mother acknowledge them as her sons. This way, we can rest assured and consult themon any matters. What do you think?"

Camille remained silent, just looking at the uncle with a calm gaze, devoid of any emotions orwaves.

Camille didn't speak, so the uncle turned to Grace and asked, "Grace, as the eldest sister, you can'tstay silent and let Camille do all the talking, can you?"

Grace met the uncle's gaze, her eyes also cold, and her voice devoid of warmth as she replied,"You've already discussed everything, and now you just want to inform us, right? Camille saidyesterday that adoption is fine, as long as it's through the door of the Armstrong family."

"We're now following your wish. The eldest cousin is being adopted into the Armstrong family, andat my age, raising a child to adulthood isn't easy. Your aunt and I have put in all our efforts. Now, forthe sake of the Armstrong family, we are willing to adopt our only son into the Armstrong family. Thisis self-sacrifice for your benefit!"

The uncle's words clearly moved him, and he didn't see anything wrong with what he said.

However, Camille and Grace didn't harbor any illusions about them, as their hearts were solelyfocused on their own interests. They rarely interacted with Page and the Armstrong family, and nowthat Page was gone, they were attempting to seize everything related to the Armstrong family. Theywere the same people who didn't keep in touch. They were nothing more than blood-suckingleeches.

Grace felt truly disgusted by these people.

She wanted to tell Camille not to be swayed by them, but with so many pairs of eyes on them, theydidn't have the opportunity to speak privately.

Grace kept looking over, and Camille seemed to sense something. Their eyes met in the nextmoment.
