Chapter 1281: Gentle Refusal

Chapter 1281: Gentle Refusal

However, Ayan didn't know what he really wanted to do at the moment.

While Ayan was resting, Kian handed him a cup of warm water. After all, in such occasions, Ayan

wouldn't drink anything given by anyone other than his secretary, Kian. It was a rule that Kian

personally took care of providing him with things, rather than delegating it to someone else.

As Kian handed him the water, he whispered, "Mr. Simpson, what is Mr. Tillery's purpose? When we

collaborated with him before, he seemed to be testing us. Could it be that this project has seen our

abilities and wants to recruit us?"

After Kian finished speaking, Ayan didn't respond and just had a serious expression on his face,

pondering about something. Kian couldn't read Ayan's thoughts and could only remain silent.

There was a brief moment of silence, and then Mr. Tillery's assistant approached the two of them and

greeted them. Speaking fluent English, he said to Ayan, "Mr. Simpson, Mr. Tillery invites you to sit with

him and meet his family. This is a rare opportunity. Even many partners of Tillery Group rarely get to

meet Mr. Tillery's family. Mr. Tillery holds Mr. Simpson in high regard, especially as a young and

talented individual like yourself."

Mr. Tillery's assistant's words made Kian involuntarily look at Ayan, and their eyes met briefly. Only

then did Ayan speak calmly, "Wouldn't it be too presumptuous? There are so many people at the

reception today, and since Mr. Tillery's intention is not to let everyone know, I think it would be better

not to meet. After all, attracting attention and speculation from others is generally not a good thing."

Ayan politely declined.

They were just business partners, and it didn't seem necessary to introduce each other. It would be

appropriate to introduce them if they were all from Hance City, but why bother when they were from

different worlds?

Ayan didn't want to invite trouble and wasn't interested in socializing with irrelevant people.

So he refused.

Of course, Mr. Tillery's assistant understood his refusal from his words. His expression changed

slightly, and he said calmly, "Mr. Simpson, are you sure about not meeting? This is a rare opportunity.

After all, Mr. Tillery genuinely considers you a friend, which is why he wanted to introduce his family to

you."

Ayan smiled faintly and replied, "Thank you for Mr. Tillery's kind offer. I appreciate it, but the occasion

today is ultimately not suitable."

Ayan persisted, and Mr. Tillery's assistant couldn't continue to insist.

After the assistant left, Ayan put down the cup in his hand, and his expression gradually became

gentle.

Kian asked in a low voice, "Mr. Simpson, what does Mr. Tillery mean?"

Ayan replied calmly, "Go and find out who Mr. Tillery's family members are."

"Alright," Kian nodded lightly and asked with some concern, "What about you?"novelbin

"It's fine. I'll sit here for a while. We'll leave after midnight," Ayan said indifferently.

Kian felt relieved, and as for Ayan's mention of "after midnight," it was naturally referring to the local

time.

There were still about twenty minutes left, so it wasn't long, and nothing significant would likely happen.

Ayan sat in the rest area, and during that time, many people came to talk to him, but he handled it with

ease.

This process lasted for a while until Kian finished his investigation and returned.

Ayan stood up and then apologized to the people around him before following Kian to the side.

He asked, "How did the investigation go?"

Kian whispered, "Mr. Simpson, Mr. Tillery seems to be interested in your abilities and Simpson Group,

so he wants to make some plans."

Kian truthfully informed Ayan about the information he had just found out. The more Ayan listened, the

more his face turned grim, and in the end, his eyes became particularly cold.

The atmosphere became heavy and tense. Kian said softly, "What should we do now? I think tonight he

wants to reject you without confronting so many people, that's why he's doing this."

Ayan replied indifferently, "Let's go back to the room and discuss."

Ayan asked Kian to greet Mr. Tillery's assistant and then left the table, using the excuse of being new

and feeling unwell.

Back in the hotel room, with a worried tone, Kian asked, "Mr. Simpson, what should we do now?"

Ayan sat on the couch, his expression becoming even more unpleasant.

He said calmly, "Contact Horace and ask him to come tomorrow."

After Horace came abroad, he went directly to Grace's place. They were currently in the honeymoon

phase, considering they hadn't seen each other for a long time. It was already a long-distance

relationship.

So, calling Horace to come over now seemed a bit inappropriate, right?

Although Horace's place was not far from here where Grace lived, Kian asked uncertainly, "Do you

really want Mr. Burris to come?"

"Yes, ask him to come, and if he can't bear to leave Grace, tell them both to come. I have something to

discuss with him."

Ayan insisted, and Kian could only nod and comply.

It was already late, and Ayan didn't want to be busy anymore. Since they were staying in a suite, he

gave instructions and then returned to his room.

He took a shower and went straight to bed to rest.

Only by resting well could he come up with the best course of action.

So, he slept peacefully, focused on nothing else.

The next day.

Hance City.

Camille woke up around 7:30 in the morning.

Timmy had to go to kindergarten at 8:30, so she wanted to make a sandwich for him early.

It was still early, and she didn't need to rush. She took photos of each step and sent them all to Ayan.

Perhaps that's how it is between spouses. They need to be willing to communicate to get along better

and better.

Camille made a sandwich for Timmy and warmed a glass of milk. Timmy went downstairs with the

nanny.

When Timmy saw Camille in the dining room, he was overjoyed. Co?tent belo?gs to Draм?nоvеls.cоm

The nanny said, "He wanted to go to your room as soon as he arrived. When he didn't see you, he

thought you had already left."

Camille's heart ached as she listened, so she quickly sat Timmy in his high chair and said, "Mommy

made this for you. Try it, is it tasty?"

Timmy clapped happily and then drank the milk and ate the sandwich.

Children are happy, and everything tastes good to them, especially since Timmy is not a picky eater, so

he thought it was even more delicious.

After eating half a sandwich and drinking half a glass of milk, Timmy, along with the nanny and the

driver-bodyguard, left for kindergarten.

After Timmy went to kindergarten, Camille turned around and headed back inside the house. She also

had to go to the office later.
