Chapter 1149: Worries

Chapter 1149: Worries

Two police officers whispered, "Of course we don't believe it. Our department is also under pressure. If

there are too many reports, we will be indifferent. After the incident is exposed, we will also be

punished. So please ask Kian to talk to Mr. Simpson and not blame our department for this situation.

We have no choice!"

Kian said, "Naturally, our relationship with Mr. Simpson and the police station has always been good."

After all, Ayan has provided many benefits to the police station; this is an indisputable fact. The police

station naturally does not want to offend Ayan, especially if the incident has nothing to do with him.

The two policemen saw that Kian had spoken like this and revealed some information: "Actually, we

don't know who reported it specifically because they didn't leave any real contact information behind.

The informant was afraid that Mr. Simpson would retaliate if he found out."

Kian nodded his head without asking more questions and ended the topic by saying: "Then please

investigate the truth of this matter as soon as possible so that Mr. Simpson won't worry about it every

day. Thank you both and all of your colleagues at the Police Station."

Kian sincerely thanked them before watching them enter into elevator.

When he returned to his office, Kian told Ayan about their conversation truthfully. Kian looked at Ayan

in a low voice:"Do we need to find out who's behind this before the police?"

Ayan narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression calm, and his voice was without temperature:"No need.

We can just keep an eye on what happens after they investigate. Besides, you can check on that

gossip reporter's recent activities, to see whether he's up-to-something or someone else is

manipulating him."

Ayan naturally did not want to waste too much energy dealing with such a trivial matter. He did not think

it was a big deal. If someone wanted trouble for him using such methods then let's wait until he doesn't

respond. What else could they do?

After instructing Kian, Ayan continued working. This matter did not cause any waves in Simpson Group

or affect their operations in any way whatsoever .

Ayan's lack of action naturally made some people impatient, so by evening, before the police had any

results, the news was already spreading like wildfire.

Ayan's domestic violence immediately became a hot topic on social media. Talia found out about it

while having dinner with friends and couldn't eat anymore. She immediately left the table and called

Ayan to question him: "Did you hit Cami? Ayan, are you crazy? You need to go back to the Simpson's

mansion right now. I'm going to tell your dad, I'm going to tell your grandpa..."

Talia bombarded Ayan with questions until he interrupted her and asked what she was talking about.

He seemed helpless as he rubbed his temples and said in a low voice: "What are you saying?"

Once Ayan regained his senses from Talia's questioning, he asked her if she heard any rumors or

gossip. Talia was still very emotional and demanded answers: "Tell me if it's true or not! If it isn't true

then why is there such news spreading around?"

"Do you believe it?" Ayan asked calmly. "Do you think I'm that kind of person? Are you underestimating

your own genes or my bottom line?"

Ayan asked casually, "Don't jump to conclusions without evidence, okay?"

Talia was also taken aback by Ayan's words and said, "Anyway, I don't care. I'm coming over to your

place tonight to see Cami. If I find out anything suspicious, you better be ready."

Without giving Ayan a chance to respond, Talia hung up the phone.

Faced with this situation, Ayan could only sigh helplessly. There was nothing his mother could do but

let her be.

That night, Talia arrived at Franklin Bay as promised. She had only informed Ayan and not Camille

beforehand.

Camille said in surprise,"Mom! Why didn't you tell me earlier? I wasn't prepared for your visit. Have you

eaten yet?"

"I already ate with my friends. Your dad is at home taking care of Timmy so I went out for a walk and

decided to drop by and see how you're doing. Sorry for not informing you earlier but it didn't upset you

did it?"

Camille quickly replied,"Of course not! I'm happy that you came!"

Talia showed Camille the utmost respect which was one of the main reasons why they had no issues

between them as mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship goes . And just like a real mom would

treat her own daughter , Camille felt comfortable around Talia too . They chatted like old friends

catching up on things.

Talia held onto Camille's hand as they sat down on the couch together . She gently touched Camille's

hand while looking at her closely , but she couldn't find any signs of abuse or mistreatment towards her

from what she saw . Her gaze was noticed by Ayan who deliberately asked ,"Mom , what are you

looking at ?"

Talia glared at him warning him to keep quiet before turning back towards Camille who seemed

confused about their exchange ."Mom , is there something going on between you and Ayan that he's

hiding from me ?"

"Nope , don't mind him" replied Talia dismissively while still keeping an eye on Ayan who seemed

relieved that his cover wasn't blown just yet .novelbin

However, Camile still felt skeptical about their behavior towards each other so she turned back towards

Ayen asking ,"Are y'all hiding something from me?"

Ayaan responded helplessly,"My mom cares about your well-being." He couldn't possibly tell her

directly that his mom suspected domestic violence in their household causing them both discomfort

during this conversation .

Camile looked back towards Talia softly saying ," Mom are worried he might hurt me aren't ya?"

Camille tentatively asked, knowing that this was the only possibility left. Otherwise, Talia would have

just said it outright.

Talia smiled and said, "Nothing. He wouldn't dare. I'm just a little worried."

"Worried about what?"

"I bought you a dress and I'm worried you won't like it, so I'm nervous." Talia whispered before taking

out a high-end brand bag from her purse and handing it to Camille. "You should like it though, right?"

Camille immediately took the bag with excitement. "Of course I'll like it."

"Then wear it for me to see?" Talia asked in a low voice.

Camille naturally agreed without hesitation.

So Camille went to the restroom on the first floor with her clothes in hand while Talia and Ayan were left

alone in the lobby.

Talia stood up straight with an indifferent look on her face as she gazed at Ayan with eyes full of

displeasure.

Seeing Talia's expression, Ayan couldn't help but laugh. "What are you mad at me for?"
