Chapter 2145Felicity frowned. ‘Is Stinky Cucumber messing with me again?"

She came out of Vermont's bedroom and called out his name. However, there was no response, and he was nowhere to be seenin the house.novelbin

She went to the study, pushed the door open, and heard the sound of something falling.

She gazed downward and saw the study floor covered with dominoes. Her opening the door knocked down the first one, causinga chain effect that toppled the rest. When every domino fell, it revealed a huge portrait of herself on the floor.

Felicity had never considered herself attractive, but her portrait on the floor had a bright smile, looking radiant and charming, withindescribably beautiful features.

'Is this how | look to him?’ she wondered.

She blushed and thought of getting her phone out to take a picture of it. But before she could turn around, the lights in the studywent out. Then, the area where her portrait was located was lit with fluorescent letters, forming two words that said Marry Me."

Felicity was stunned. Her heart loudly pounded as if it were going to leave her body. Then, she felt a lump in her throat, and tearswelled up in her eyes.

She instinctively stepped back and bumped into a solid chest.

Vermont wrapped his arms around her waist, leaned closer to her, and whispered in her ear, "Miss bandit, | had so much to sayto you. It took me two days to set this up. It was supposed to be more romantic, but then those two nuisances showed up andruined my plan."

Felicity got so nervous that she felt tense all over. "What plan?” she asked softly.Vermont chuckled. "My proposal.”

He then switched on the lights, knelt on one knee in front of Felicity, and said softly with a gentle look, "Being in a relationshipwith you has brought me so much joy. However, I'm not someone who's easily satisfied; | want an official recognition of ourrelationship.

"So, Ms. Thompson. Will you marry me?""|-I-" Felicity stuttered. "| need to ask my mom where she keeps our family's residency registration documents."

Vermont, who was already nervous enough, could not help but laugh upon hearing what Felicity said. Then, he grabbed herhand and asked softly, "So, is that a yes?"

Felicity blushed as she said awkwardly, "I'll say yes no matter when you propose to me. The problem isn't with me but with mymom. | entered this relationship with marriage in mind. | just didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.”

Vermont chuckled as he slid the ring on her finger. "I actually thought of you rejecting me before. | didn't expect it to go sosmoothly and that you'd say yes right away. Have you been wanting me for a long time?"

"Nonsense!" Blushing, Felicity glowered at him. "You're the one who is desperate to have me! You pretended to be impotent toget me to cook for you and made me your fake girlfriend. There's nothing worse in this world than you!

"| don't have much experience in dating, and that was why you could fool me with your tricks. And now that I've agreed to marryyou, you have the nerve to say that I've been wanting you for a long time? I'll tell you what, I-

Ugh—"Before she could finish speaking, Vermont suddenly stood up and pinned her against the wall, kissing her non-stop.

Felicity froze for a moment. Then, she relaxed her body, wrapped her arms around his neck, and reciprocated the kiss with hereyes closed.

She then felt a slight chill on her ring finger and wanted to sneak a peek at her engagement ring.

But when she opened her eyes, she did not see any diamond ring. Instead, it was an incredibly wide gold ring!

She pushed Vermont away as fury exploded in her. She then raised her right hand and asked through gritted teeth, "What isthis?"

Vermont said, "Babe, are you okay? This is the engagement ring.”As he tried to hug her again, Felicity's expression turned dark. "Stay right there! Don't come near me!"Vermont had no choice but to stay put.

She then said furiously, "Who proposes with a gold ring? Are you so stingy that you're not even willing to buy me a diamondring?"

Vermont defended himself, "Darling, you don't understand. Diamonds have depreciated significantly in recent years. People arestepping out of consumerism traps.

“A diamond ring that was being sold for eighty thousand dollars years ago is only worth a few thousand now. | can buy the stockwith the highest risk in the market and still wouldn't lose much money. But this gold ring will still be worth as much as it is nowafter decades, and-"
