Chapter 2068

Chapter 2068Stella froze for a moment as if she understood. But she did not.

Felicity spoke even more straightforwardly, "What my mom meant was that we must have a child. If Stinky Cucumber can't giveme a child, then my mom will never agree to our relationship, no matter what.

"She needs someone to inherit her ‘throne’. I'm not up to the task, so she plans to have a little successor."novelbin

Stella was speechless.

‘It seems like our roles are switched,’ she thought. Then, she asked bewilderedly, "What 'throne' does your mom have?"Felicity hesitated for a moment before pointing at the Deron Supermart at the side. "Can you see that supermarket over there?”

Stella glanced over, looked at it, and thought, 'What does one of the top ten supermarket chains in the country have to do withher mom?’

Then, she heard Felicity continuing, "She founded Deron Supermart. Also, she has a lot of vegetable and fruit plantations, livestock breeding bases, various beverage and meat processing factories..."

Stella was so shocked that she could not utter a word.

Felicity was always so low-key and even more financially savvy than her. Stella had always thought that she came from anaverage working-class family and never considered that she might be a secret wealthy heiress.

Looking back, Stella noticed some signs. For instance, Felicity always had a Deron shopping card, and the products there werenot cheap. While she hesitated when shopping elsewhere, she hardly ever checked prices at Deron.

Also, on one of Stella's birthdays, she gifted her a shopping card from Deron Supermart worth five thousand dollars. However,Stella did not dare to accept it as she thought Felicity was drunk and had mistakenly reloaded the wrong amount.

Moreover, when Dahlia froze Stella's card, and she urgently needed to pay Rainee's medical fees, Felicity gave her a milliondollars in no time.

Stella did not think much of it when Felicity said she got the money from her friend.

Later, she realized that one million was not a small amount, and given how urgent it was, even a good friend would need toconsider the other party's ability to repay such a large sum.

So, Stella figured Felicity most likely got the money from her family.

Stella massaged her temples, still digesting the news of her best friend suddenly becoming the heiress of Deron Supermart.’Hold up, why are you putting yourself through the hardships of a regular person when your family is so rich?"

Felicity frowned. 'My mom is rich, not me. She never wanted me to come to Rivera. She wanted me to stay in our hometownafter graduation to take over her business. But | know what I’m capable of, and | simply can't do business.

"We had a huge fight because we had different opinions, so she stopped giving me allowance right after | graduated. You knowvery well | can never stand to be treated like this, so | told her that | won't go back home until | become a successful scriptwriter!"

The period right after graduating was the toughest for Felicity. Stella had helped her a lot during this time. Back then, she hadjust married into the Kane family and was treading on thin ice in the house. However, when Felicity asked for her help, she didnot hesitate to use her savings to help her out of her predicament.

Over the years, although Felicity had not achieved anything remarkable, she got herself a stable job. She was already veryhappy that she got to work in the industry she loved and had a friend like Stella.Stella was speechless. "You could've lived like a princess, yet you chose to be a corporate slave?"

Felicity said, "My mom was deeply hurt by her previous relationship and felt that nothing in this world can be relied upon exceptmoney. This is why she works so hard to make money. But deep down, she knows that money alone can't do everything.

“Especially toward kids, money can breed laziness and discourage ambition. So, she would always give me just enough for myliving expenses. When I was in school, | boasted to my classmates that | could get anything from Deron for free.

"When | got home that day, my mom chased me with a broom for two miles and gave me a two-hour lecture I'd never forget. She's afraid that having money will have a bad influence, so she's been very strict with my finances.

“As time passed and she realized | became independent, she became worried about other things. When Stinky Cucumber lied tome about being impotent back then, | tested my mom by asking if she could accept it if | didn't have any children. This isprobably why she immediately connected the dots herself and made that request.

"She wants a child to inherit our family business, but | know that is not her main concern. My cousins are doing very well in thecompany, and my mom has also been gradually delegating authority. Since | don't have any siblings, she's just worried that |might be alone if something were to happen to her."

Although Stella disagreed with using one's perspective as a parent to force their children into marriage and having children, shecould understand it from Florence's point of view.

It was impossible for a mother not to worry about her child as long as she was still breathing.
