Chapter 995

Chapter 995

Albert and Hylda both had strange looks on their faces as they realized that Stella witnessed thedramatic scene that had happened.

“Stella, why are you at the hospital?”

Albert was the one who recollected himself first as he hurriedly asked novelbob. Then, he looked atKeegan and asked, “Did you come here with Mr. Kane?“

Stella shook her head. “Nope. I’m here to see a doctor and met him downstairs, so we came uptogether.”

She looked at Albert before shifting her gaze to Hylda, and finally to the woman that Albert washugging. “And, this is?”

“She’s-“

“She’s the company secretary.” Hylda interrupted Albert before he could finish speaking.

Hylda was a homewrecker who ruined Rainee’s family, and she was so proud of it back then. However, after less than a year of getting married to Albert, he got sick of her and found someone a lot youngerto replace her. How ironic was that?

Hylda could turn a blind eye to Albert having an affair outside their marriage, but she would not allowherself to be a laughingstock to Stella.

So, the first thing she could think of was to hide Xenia’s real identity.

Stella did not speak as she sized up Xenia. Then, she said after a few moments, “This secretary ofyours looks somewhat familiar.”

Xenia’s face was right in front of Stella, so it was just impossible for her to not see the resemblancejudging from how close Stella was with Rainee. Hylda was fuming at the fact that not only did Albertcheat on her nv?lx.o, but he even did it with someone who looked so much like Rainee to challenge herlimit.

Stella was a sharp person, and she could sort of already guess what was happening after bumping intothem in the hospital.

“I thought the same as you too when I first saw this young lady. Look at her eyes. They look so muchlike Rainee’s.” Hylda sighed before she added,” Unfortunately, Rainee lived a short life and left us toosoon. Otherwise, they’d look so much like mother and daughter when they stand next to each other. We wouldn’t have hired her if it wasn’t for how she looks. This young lady is a very hardworking andnovelbob meticulous girl who knows how to read others’ moods very well while serving tea and coffeeto us in the office.”

Stella’s blood boiled with anger when she heard the shameless and malicious words coming out ofHylda’s mouth

She sneered and said, “Do you feel okay with someone with so much resemblance to my motherserving you tea and coffee?”

Hylda smirked. “Why not? I actually feel pretty comforted too. If it wasn’t for Rainee’s help, I would’venever gotten the opportunity to make it out of my old neighborhood. I’m very grateful to her.”

Stella clenched her fists tightly.

Keegan coughed softly and the sound he made brought Stella back to her senses, as she took a deepbreath to calm herself down.

Obviously, Hylda was just trying to provoke her, and everything that she had done would go in vain ifshe were to fall into Hylda’s trap.

Her face turned pale, and she put on a dejected look on her face as she questioned Albert, “Is this whatyou meant by sincerity? My mother has passed away, yet you’re making her go through a humiliationlike this?”

Albert, who had been at a loss for words, finally recollected himself as he quickly said, “Don’t listen toher nonsense. Today’s her first day seeing Xenia.”novelbin

Hylda’s face brimmed with anger. ‘What a despicable asshole! How could he embarrass me like this?!’

After clarifying, Albert shifted his gaze back to Stella and Keegan. “Keegan, longtime no see.”

His voice sounded a little unnatural. Even though he extorted fifty million from Keegan onlineremorselessly, he could not help but feel a little guilty when he saw Keegan in person.

Keegan’s eyes always looked sharp and calm as if he could see through everything. Albert was aboutthirty years older than him, yet he would somehow feel uneasy around him.

Keegan swept his gaze across him. “Mr. Jewell, it’s better for you to not address me by my first nameto avoid any misunderstandings from others.”
