Chapter 1970

Chapter 1970

The doctor gave Stella a new diet plan and reminded her to control her sugar intake.

With the increased risk of carrying twins, it was important to strictly control the rate of fetal growth.

Smaller and healthier fetuses would lead to a smoother delivery process, and a quicker recovery for the

mother afterward.

Keegan took out his phone and diligently noted down all the doctor’s instructions.

Stella was listening to the doctor carefully too. But, when she went to get some water, she saw

Keegan's serious demeanor while typing on his phone and found it somewhat amusing.

His stern expression made him look exactly like a secretary jotting down meeting notes. No one would

have thought that he was writing down notes of the doctor's instructions.

Keegan was still holding Stella's hand when they came out of the doctor's office.

However, Stella just let him do it without mocking him for acting as if he had regained his memories.

She could feel the mixed emotions of excitement and concern emanating from Keegan through their

intertwined fingers.

In fact, she was feeling the exact same way.

Being pregnant was already a blessing to her, but having twins was beyond her wildest imagination.

Now that she thought about it, it seemed like there were some signs.

She recalled the jellyfish dream she had before, where the beautiful bubble split into two. 'Could that be

one of the signs?' she wondered to herself.

And, her appetite had changed drastically. She could eat more than other pregnant women who were

at the same stage, and she felt hungry very often. 'Well, I do have two babies inside of me. It's only

normal that I can eat more, right?' Stella thought to herself.

'Twins... It would be great if they were a boy and a girl like the doctor claimed.

'Of course, it would be great too if they're both girls or both boys. I don't really mind,' Stella said

inwardly.

While she was lost in her thoughts, Stella did not pay attention to the path ahead and accidentally

bumped into a man, knocking the medicine out of his hand.

Stella was stunned. Then, she immediately bent down to pick up the medicine. However, the man was

furious and angrily shoved Stella away. "Are you blind?" he shouted.

Stella almost fell to the ground, but fortunately, Keegan reacted quick enough and caught her.

After helping Stella regain her balance, Keegan abruptly grabbed the man by his collar and said with a

cold face,"

What department are you from?"

The man was startled by Keegan's demeanor. He stuttered, as he said, "H-Hey, wh-what are you

doing?"

Keegan tightened his grip and said, "I asked you a question. What department are you from!?"

"Obstetrics and Gynecology."

The man quickly realized his mistake and immediately apologized to Stella. "I'm sorry. Please, forgive

me. I didn't mean to do that. The medicine was very expensive, and I was in a hurry..."

Stella pulled Keegan away and whispered, "Forget it. I wasn't paying attention either, and I didn't fall

anyway."

With a tense face, Keegan released the man and walked Stella to the elevator.

However, he became more careful this time. He wrapped his arm around Stella's shoulders, preventing

others from touching her.

Stella's heart melted, as she reached out to encircle Keegan's waist. Then, she whispered, "Keegan

Kane, I'm happy. I'm so happy."

Keegan remained silent. He raised his hand and tucked her head against his chest. In the crowded

elevator, Stella could clearly hear his heartbeat.

After coming out of the building and walking to the parking lot side-by-side, Keegan suddenly halted his

steps.

Stella was taken aback and turned to him.

Then, she heard Keegan say in a soft voice, "Why don't we... get our marriage certificate first?"

Stella's heart skipped a beat.novelbin

'Is he finally going to stop pretending?' she wondered to herself.

Keegan explained, "Didn't you say that we have to work on our physical connection? Once we get the

certificate, we can do whatever a legitimate couple can do without worrying about others gossiping."

Stella was left speechless.

'Only he could come up with such a terrible excuse!

'Is he the kind of person who'd be afraid of gossip?

'I can't believe that the proposal I've been dreaming about for so long turns out this way!' Stella thought

to herself.
