Chapter 1969

Chapter 1969

"Aldor picked this flower too, right?" Stella touched the petals and said, "Aldor is so good with flowers.

Look at how fresh they are."

Keegan could not hold back anymore, and he exclaimed, "I bought the flowers!"

Stella looked at him. "Why did you buy them?"

"I—" Keegan looked away, as he said, "I saw a little girl selling flowers alone, so I bought all of her

flowers out of pity."

'This scum! He just keeps on lying!' Stella cursed inwardly.

Then, she scoffed, "No wonder they're not fresh at all. They're all leftovers, huh?"

Keegan was shocked.

'When Aldor is the one buying them, they're fresh. But, when I buy them, they're not?'

Keegan glared at the bouquet, plucked a flower petal out of frustration, and got into the car without

speaking to Stella.

Stella was amused. His acting skill could be considered convincing when he was around others, but

when they were alone, he would display his true emotions all over. To Stella, his acting skills were

simply terrible.

The hospital they went to for the prenatal checkup was

affiliated with Fober University. Most of the people who went there for medical treatment were retired

cadres and show folk, as the hospital provided good confidentiality.

Garett's senior was in charge of Stella's examination. Stella had been to this hospital before, so the

doctor was very familiar with her condition.

Keegan accompanied her throughout the entire process. However, he was scrutinizing each of the test

results.

Stella laughed and said, "You're not even a doctor. Can you understand them?"

Keegan did not say anything in response. He was probably still angry with what happened in the

morning.

Stella pouted and secretly cursed him for being petty.

During the ultrasound, the doctor looked at the screen and suddenly paused. Then, she frowned and

carefully observed the baby with a somewhat serious expression.

Stella felt nervous. She had always dreaded it whenever the doctor's expression suddenly changed

during examinations.

She clutched her shirt tightly and asked in a low voice, "Is everything okay, doctor?"

The doctor chuckled, "They're twins."

Keegan froze.

Stella could not process what the doctor said at first. "What? ■

The doctor continued gently, "Your babies were only six

weeks old during your last visit, so I couldn’t see them clearly. But, I am sure of it this time."

She pointed to show Stella and added, "Look over here and here. There are two gestational sacs."

Stella stared at the doctor's fingers and carefully observed the screen. She could vaguely see two pea-

sized things, and her heart pounded wildly.

"D-D-Doctor, are you sure? Are you sure they're twins?"

Stella was so excited that she stuttered.

The doctor responded with a smile. "Actually, during your last visit, I wasn't sure because it wasn't very

clear at that time. I was afraid of making the wrong judgment and causing unnecessary excitement for

you, so I didn't bring it up-

"But, I am certain this time. They're fraternal twins. It'd be wonderful if they were a boy and a girl."

Stella grabbed Keegan and shook him excitedly. "Keegan Kane, did you hear that? Twins! They'renovelbin

twins! I'm going to give birth to two babies, yet I only have to suffer through pregnancy once! How lucky

is that?"

Keegan snapped out of his daze and regained his senses after being shaken by Stella.

He held Stella's hand tightly and asked, "Doctor, can her body handle a twin pregnancy? I just looked

at the test result, and a few indicators are showing more fluctuations than before. Is there any risk with

a twin pregnancy? If there

is, can we consider selective reduction?"

Keegan's words instantly brought Stella back from her excitement.

"You're pretty attentive for remembering the readings from previous reports. Also, you're the first

person I've met who'd ask about the wife's condition upon hearing news like this," the doctor said.

Then, she raised her head and added, "It's still too soon to think about that. Currently, your wife's

condition looks fine, and there's no need for a reduction.

"As long as you come for checkups regularly, we'll provide you with scientific advice based on the

mother's health condition during different stages of pregnancy.

"Generally, nothing will go wrong. But, of course, if any problems arise later on, we'll certainly opt for a

reduction to ensure the mother's safety. You can rest assured about that."

Stella heaved a sigh of relief and realized that her palm was wet. She looked down and saw Keegan's

hand covered in sweat.

It turned out that he was more worried than her.
