Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted By Eleven Jewell Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Stella swallowed every word that she wanted to say. She could not speak another word anymore.

‘Right. How can I ever count on Keegan?”

“Stella?”

Keegan raised his voice. The weird silence made him feel inexplicably confused.

After a few seconds, Stella spoke again, “I have things to do today. Can we do this another time?”

Keegan coldly smiled, “Another time? Stella, do you think I’m so free like you? The one who wanted toget a divorce was you. And, you’ve gone missing during this crucial time. What are you trying to do?”

Stella’s face was pale. Her voice was husky as she said, “I really have something to do today. I can’tcome Let me know which day you’re free. I’ll arrive on time whenever you say.”

“I have no time for your jokes!”

He said icily and ended the call.

Stella clutched her phone. She laughed at herself after a while.

Whenever she needed Keegan the most, he was never there for her. After her hopes were crushed, she suddenly no longer expected anything from him.

She sat alone in the quiet waiting room. After waiting for an hour, she woke up when the nurseinformed her that her mother was moved to the ward.

Rainee was narrowly rescued. But, the doctor told Stella that the functions of her mother’s body partswere starting to deteriorate noticeably. That was not a good sign. So, they asked her to have realisticexpectations.

Stella thanked the doctor before she sent him away. She then asked the orderly to get a tub of hotwater.

When the orderly saw her going to take the towel, she immediately said, “Ms. Jewell, I’ll help you withit.”

“It’s fine. I’ll do it myself. You should go and get some rest. I’ll let you know when I need your help.”

The orderly went out after hearing what she said.

Stella wrung out the wet towel, sat next to the bed, and wiped Rainee’s body with it.

It had been six years since the incident. Rainee had been in this state sleeping on the hospital bed forsix

years.

The muscles of her whole body almost completely shrunk down. Her body that was lying on the bedwas as withered as a dead tree. She could only sustain her life by relying on nutrient solutions. Evenso, her body was still getting weaker every day.

Maybe one day when Stella woke up, she could no longer see her again.

Humans were weird. When Stella was a kid, Rainee did not treat her very well. She was a strict mother. She kept a tight rein on her. Her child was more like an art that she carefully crafted. Motherly love wasjust an ancillary product when she was accomplishing her expectation.

But, it was almost natural for a child to rely on her mother. Even if the motherly love she got was terriblylittle, it was still something that she could not give up. It did not matter if Rainee would just stay lying onthe bed forever. It would make Stella feel less afraid in this world.

‘Luckily, she’s still alive.‘novelbin

She carefully wiped the front part of Rainee’s body. She had to ask for the orderly’s help to roll over hermother.

She was drowning in sweat after cleaning her up.

Hot water was only available after eight at night in the washroom of Rainee’s ward.

The orderly said that there was a public bath downstairs. It was specifically for the accompanying staffto use. Stella could go there to clean herself up. The nurse even enthusiastically lent her a set ofclothes. Stella thanked the nurse. She then took the toiletries to the public bath that was mentioned bythe orderly.

It was the hospital staff’s dinner time. So, there were very few people in the bathroom. She felt a lotmore refreshed after taking a shower. And, her headache got better.

The sky outside was dark, as it was already seven–thirty in the evening.
