Chapter 1254

Chapter 1254

Hylda replied coldly, “What do you think? You were supposed to look after Hugo, yet you managed tolose him as soon as I sent him to you!”

Lydia defended herself. “It wasn’t entirely my fault. It was dark, and Hugo ran out on his own. There areso many children in the kindergarten. How am I supposed to keep an eye on everyone?”

In fact, Lydia was not feeling guilty at all.

Albert invited all the prominent figures of Rivera to his second wedding. Lydia wanted to attend andtake this opportunity to expand her social circle. She wanted to know more people of higher socialstatus so that her son would have better opportunities in the future.

However, Hylda did not allow her to be there and made it clear that she did not want any of Albert’s“poor relatives” to attend her wedding.

Although Rainee did not like them too, she still invited them to her wedding. So, the fact that Hylda wasnot even bothered to hide that she hated them made Lydia furious.

Lydia thought to herself. ‘Not only that she didn’t allow us to attend her wedding, she wanted us to takecare of her child. She should be grateful that I didn’t refuse to help.’

Hylda did not want to argue with her. She was very disgusted by a scheming bumpkin like Lydia. So,she asked

coldly, “Why did you call?”

Lydia finally got to the point. “Stella, that illegitimate child, hired a lawyer to sue us. She claims that weoccupy the Spade family’s land and demands us to move.”

Hylda was taken aback as her expression immediately darkened. “She’s onto us already?”

“The lawyer she appointed sent us a letter demanding we move out in three days, or they’ll sue us forproperty infringement. Hylda, I invested more than a million in this kindergarten back then. You’ve gotto reimburse me if we really must move out because you were the one who said there wouldn’t be anyproblems. You should bear the responsibility now that she’s coming after us.”

Hylda got so angry that her eyes twitched.

What a dumbass! I can’t believe that she’s trying to put all the blame on me instead of trying to solvethe problem!’

Hylda took a deep breath and suppressed her anger. Then, she said in a deep voice, “What’s the pointof saying something like this now? You’re aware that I invested more money than you did, right? Have Iever paid you less than you deserve? How could you think of running away just because of an issue?Even if I reimburse you now, the kindergarten is still registered under your name. Do you think you canstay out of this?”novelbin

Lydia’s face turned red. “You’re the one who suggested it!”

Hylda replied flatly, “Didn’t you make money out of it? Could you ever have bought a house in the citycenter of Rivera if it weren’t for me? Do you think your son could’ve found a decent girlfriend?”

Lydia’s expression turned awful. She despised hearing that condescending tone from Hylda as if sheowed her life to her!

“What should we do now, then? Are we just going to sit here and get sued?”

Hylda sat up. “Yeah, why not? Our kindergarten is huge and has so many students. Do you think wecan move out just because she demanded us to? The parents and authorities will never agree to this!

Besides, we have the title deed. Why are you so afraid of her?”

Although Hylda was right, the thought of going to court terrified Lydia. She had never set foot in acourtroom and always had a bad feeling about that place.

“Should we hire a lawyer, then?” Lydia asked.

Hylda pondered momentarily before saying, “You don’t have to do anything now. Just continue runningthe kindergarten as usual. Let’s see what they’ll do after three days, and we’ll come up with a plan bythen.”

Lydia had no idea what else to do, so she listened to Hylda.

Hylda hung up the phone, and her face immediately darkened.

She just got kicked out of the Jewell residence, and now Stella was demanding the kindergarten sheinvested in move out. Albert terminated all her bank cards, and the kindergarten was her only source ofincome. ‘What a bitch Stella is. She’s trying to ruin my life!’
