Chapter 553 Argument

Clarissa couldn’t help feeling that Damien wasn’t too happy. Perhaps it was because she hadn’t comenovelbin

home to see him.

“You’re so petty!” she muttered once Neil was asleep.

“Just be straight if you’re looking for trouble,” Damien said calmly.

She thought, ‘What’s he thinking about? Does he think that I want to…’

She ignored him, and turned her back to him.

When Joseph saw that Clarissa had transferred money to him, he was lying on the bed. That night, he

had gotten himself drunk.

He wasn’t in love with Penelope. Clarissa had always been the one in his heart, but they weren’t meant

to be.

When Penelope came out of the bathroom in her pajamas, she happened to see Joseph’s phone on

the bedside table. The screen had yet to dim, and she saw Clarissa’s transfer to him.

She was already upset with Clarissa for disrupting her wedding, and her blood boiled at the thought of

Clarissa contacting Joseph in the middle of the night.

She grabbed the phone and threw it at Joseph. It left a scratch on his forehead.

“What are you doing?!” This woke Joseph up. He sat up immediately, furious.

“How dare you ask me what I’m doing! I want to know what this vixen is up to. She’s suddenly back

here after three years of nothing, and she’s been causing trouble for both of us. She was the one to

spread that rumor about your father and Iris Benson, whoever that is. Your mother was furious, the

whole wedding was ruined, and now, she’s contacting you in the middle of the night. You’d better give

me an explanation, Joseph! My father didn’t give me to you for you to bully me.” Penelope turned her

head away, tears welling up in her eyes. “Why didn’t Clarissa just die abroad?”

“How the fuck can you be so venomous? Anyway, am I the one who asked you to marry me? You’re

the one who refused to leave me alone.” Joseph was mad as well.

“Get the fuck out of here!” Penelope pointed at him angrily.

Joseph ignored her and turned his back to her.

Penelope’s wedding night ended in a haze of rage and jealousy. Joseph didn’t lay a finger on her, so

she was still a virgin.

At the same time, an argument was also going on downstairs.

Shirley was questioning Frank. “What the hell happened back then? How’d you end up sleeping with

Iris Benson?”

Her personality was rather similar to Penelope’s. They were both quick to anger, and they couldn’t

stand being lied to.

Frank looked awkward. “It’s been so many years since then, and I’ve already forgotten what she even

looks like. I didn’t even know you then, so I didn’t do anything wrong. No man goes through life without

making a few mistakes.”

“So it’s true, then!” Shirley suddenly burst into tears.

This man had lied to her for her whole life, and he even helped another woman set up her company.

She wouldn’t let Iris off the hook!

Frank merely sighed. Not saying a word anymore, he turned to get into bed.

“Get your ass into the other bedroom! How dare you sleep in my bed?” Shirley screamed.

He went to the other room, dejected.

As he lay in bed, he was reminded of how Iris had looked on screen. She was the perfect combination

of innocence and sexiness. Her skin was fair, and her eyes were bright. Plus, she had a great figure.

There were few men who could resist her.
