Chapter 482 Depression

“I’ll have people send you back to university. Your professor will follow me to Florin,” Damien said.

Lisa and Rem exchanged doubtful glances. After a while, they replied, “Alright, Mr. Lawrence. We’ll call

Miss Johnson again later.”

Damien knew why they had to call Clarissa. It was mainly to check on her safety.

He had no choice but to stay silent and agree to it.

Around nine o’ clock, the two students left.

Soon, Lisa rang Clarissa.

It took Clarissa a while to pick up her phone. Her entire body was aching, and her voice was hoarse.

“Hello…?”

“Hello, Miss Johnson. Rem and I will be heading back as planned, but Mr. Lawrence said you’ll be

resting for today. Do take care!” Lisa said.

Clarissa was still in a daze, so she couldn’t really process Lisa’s words.

She mumbled a groggy “Okay” before going back to sleep immediately after.

Mrs. Faber took Neil out for a walk, so Damien was the only one at home. He didn’t go to work and

instead spent his time reading on the bed.

When two o’ clock struck, Clarissa finally rose from her slumber.

She had no idea what time it was, for the curtains were tightly closed. She saw Damien leaning on the

bed frame, reading a book.

“You’re finally awake?” Damien asked.

“What time is it?” she asked dizzily.

“Two.”

“In the morning?”

“In the afternoon.” Damien remained in his reading position.novelbin

Clarissa frowned. Then, she remembered the call she received from Lisa this morning. “Have they

left?”

“Yes.”

Clarissa jumped in shock, shooting Damien a hateful “what would they think of me now” look. Damien

ignored her and continued reading, acting as if he didn’t see anything.

Clarissa’s nether regions were burning in pain. Even though it was already two, she didn’t want to get

up yet.

She lay back in bed and continued sleeping, but the pain only worsened. She woke up again,

wondering if she should go to the hospital for a checkup.

The thought reminded her of her old friend, Bethany. Clarissa wondered how Bethany was doing.

For the past three years, Clarissa never enjoyed a good sleep; all because of her fear of Iris. Last night

was a rare exception, probably because she knew Damien was with her.

In the end, the pain on her body forced Clarissa to stay in bed for a long time.

At first, Damien simply assumed that Clarissa was just lazy and couldn’t be bothered to move. Thus, he

had Mrs. Faber bring dinner to the bedroom for Clarissa later that evening. Neil also came inside the

bedroom to play with Clarissa. She loved him dearly and enjoyed his company, and kept rubbing his

head.

After dinner, Damien received a call from his assistant.

“President Lawrence, the man’s name is Seth Highmore. He’s a famous psychologist, and he’s been in

contact with Miss Johnson for almost a year,” the assistant said.

“Does she have any mental illnesses?” Damien asked.

“Yes. Apparently, she suffered from a major depressive disorder.”

Damien went deathly silent.
