Chapter 471 Is This Your Son?

Peter was the only person in Clarissa’s family that she had a somewhat good impression of.

He was just skin and bones, and he seemed to walk with a limp.

“You’re really staying here? Connie and her mother are filming at the University of Florin, and I came to

see them. They told me you were a teacher here, so I asked around for your apartment,” Peter

explained.

Clarissa let him in.

“This boy’s…” Peter didn’t know Neil.

“Oh, a colleague’s son.” She brushed him off.novelbin

Peter scanned her place while she got him a glass of water.

“Clarissa, why did you leave for so many years without a single word? Did you and Damien get into a

fight?” he asked.

Neil had been reading. When he heard his father’s name, his gaze stilled. He was listening, but he

pretended to still be flipping the pages.

Clarissa froze before replying slowly, “No, I was busy abroad. I barely even had time to sleep.”

Peter sighed. “Everything’s changed in such a short period of time. Your mother passed away, and

now, Connie’s become an actress. I didn’t expect that at all! Did you know that I went to see your

mother a few days ago? People always like to reminisce when they’re old. I actually came across some

old photos of me and your mother when I went back to Pentatone County to tidy up the house.” He

wiped a tear away and pulled the photos out of his bag.

“Yeah, I know. I saw the flowers on Mom’s grave.” Clarissa took the photos from him and flipped

through them. The photos had been taken when they were children. She couldn’t help tearing up at the

thought of her mother.

“My heart aches whenever I think about her. To this day, we still don’t know how exactly she died, and

why she was pushed off the building. If not for Damien…” Peter rubbed his head and continued

tearfully, “It’s a good thing you two are divorced now. He’s a cold-blooded snake!”

“I won’t let you talk about my Daddy like that!” Neil shot to his feet angrily. “You’re a liar!”

This gave Peter a shock. Wasn’t Damien’s son Clarissa’s son as well?

“This… Is this your son?” he asked.

Clarissa frowned. It looked like the cat was out of the bag.

Neil looked at her in surprise. “Pretty lady, you… Are you my mom?”

Peter was taken aback. “He doesn’t know yet?”

Neil had grown agitated and excited at the same time.

Clarissa was trying to think of an answer when someone knocked on the door again.

It was Caleb, and in his hands was a grocery bag.

She guessed that the eggs and crust pastry were in it.

“Why are you here? Where’s Lisa?” she asked, even going as far as to look around outside.

“Someone invited her to a concert after she bought these, so she asked me to bring them to you,”

Caleb said.

Coincidentally, Clarissa’s phone rang at this moment. It was Lisa.

“Miss Johnson, has Caleb delivered the things to you? A classmate invited me to a concert, and I was

running late. I ran into Caleb on my way to your place and asked him to give me a hand,” Lisa said

hurriedly.

“Yeah, he has.” Perhaps Clarissa felt that Lisa’s haplessness was a little worrisome, so she said, “Don’t

forget that we’re leaving at nine o’ clock three days from now. I don’t want to have to drag you out of

bed.”

“Got it! I won’t forget, Miss Johnson.” Lisa hung up after that.

When Caleb saw Peter, he asked, “Who is this?”

“Oh, this is my uncle. Uncle Peter, this is my student, Caleb Mckenny.” Clarissa introduced them to

each other.
