Chapter 458 Trying Her Luck

When they arrived at Theresa’s grave, Luke stood to one side and smoked as per usual.

The incident with Lucy had happened a long time ago, but because they had talked about it earlier, his

fury resurfaced.

He pulled his phone out and sent Lucy a WhatsApp message.

Luke: [You shameless bitch!]

This wasn’t enough to appease him. He sent one to Damien as well.

Luke: [Bastard, how blind do you have to be to go for a piece of trash and even get her pregnant? No

wonder my sister doesn’t want to be with you! Fuck off!]

Luke was a typical fence-sitter. His opinion changed all the time, whether in line with his emotions or

with things that were going on at the time. Perhaps he felt Damien was truly out of his grasp, so he

decided to just insult Damien however he wanted. He felt he didn’t have to bear any consequences for

insulting Damien, so he could just do whatever he wanted.

To Clarissa’s surprise, there was a bouquet of flowers before Theresa’s grave. It was already wilting,

but she could tell that it had only been here for a few days.novelbin

“Do you know who put this bouquet here?” she asked Luke.

“How would I know? It’s probably from one of her old friends.”

This didn’t make sense. Theresa had been in a coma for six years, and most of their neighbors had

moved away. They had lost contact with those that they had been on good terms with, and it definitely

wasn’t Connie and Cindy as the two were in Florin. Could it be Peter? He was at Genovia at the

moment.

It wasn’t likely to be Damien. He was at Florin.

Clarissa spoke to Theresa in her heart because she didn’t want Luke to hear her. She didn’t tell

Theresa about all the bad things she had been through. She only wanted Theresa to think that she was

having a good life.

She couldn’t help but be reminded of Theresa’s smiles and their past. At that, Clarissa teared up.

Though it was always better to have more friends than enemies, Theresa was one of Clarissa’s loved

ones.

She smiled mockingly at the thought of Patrick murdering Theresa, as well as Damien slandering her

mother.

After visiting Theresa’s grave, Clarissa went straight back to Florin. She still had to inspect Eden

Investment Corporation during the holidays, so she took a bus back.

Damien was a little confused by Luke’s message.

Damien: [Who did I get pregnant?]

Luke: [Cut the crap. It’s Lucy!]

Damien frowned. Mrs. Faber had mentioned something like this before, but he thought Lucy had only

been trying to latch onto him.

She had come to his house a few times over the past few years.

Whenever she came, she didn’t say much. She would just find some excuses to explain herself, and

then she would stand there pitifully. Damien felt irritated whenever he laid eyes on her. He would be

reminded of the fact that she was imitating Clarissa, and at that time, he was filled with hatred for

Clarissa.

Not that he didn’t hate her now.

How could he have gotten Lucy pregnant?

And where was the child?

Was the child’s existence only meant to agitate Clarissa?

Damien paced around his room. He sent another WhatsApp message to Luke.

Damien: [You saw Clarissa?]

Luke: [Duh. We came to visit my mother’s grave.]

Luke must’ve mentioned this to Clarissa, so…

Lucy!

In that instant, Damien’s disgust for Lucy reached its peak. She had pulled such an elaborate scheme!

He detested women like her who looked gentle but were actually scheming.

He continued pacing the room, and then sent Madelynn a WhatsApp message.

Damien: [Can you help me send something to Lucy? I’m at Florin, and I can’t leave at the moment.

Someone will definitely notice if I get my assistant to send it to her. I’ll have him bring the things to you.]

Madelynn almost lost her mind when she saw this.

Clarissa had been absent for the past three years, and there had been rumors all over Genovia about

Damien and Lucy. It looked like she had gone easy on Lucy.

This woman deserved everything that was coming to her!

Madelynn: [Sure.]

She wanted to see just what Damien wanted to give to Lucy.

At this point, Madelynn’s life as a celebrity was well and truly over. She was now getting by as a petty

influencer. She hadn’t managed to win Damien’s heart when she was a huge celebrity, and she felt

even more inferior now. While there were plenty of rich men who married celebrities, it was a little

shameful for them to marry insignificant influencers.

Damien’s request was enough to set her off the edge, and she was close to exploding with rage.

After texting Madelynn, Damien went to bathe.

He didn’t hear someone knock on the door.

It was Clarissa, and she had just returned to Florin. She didn’t know whether Damien had gone back to

Genovia, so she was trying her luck.
