Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 246

Chapter 246 Maybe I’m A Freak Damien

kept his gaze trained on her face after he asked that question.

“They‘re my babies. Of course I‘m concerned,” Clarissa replied after some thought. “Aren‘t you afraid of

me? If so, why are you asking me for help?” he asked.

“Well, then, why did you bring me here to live with you when you know I‘m having Joseph‘s babies?”

she shot back in return.

“Maybe I‘m a freak. I don‘t want someone that used to be mine to belong to someone else.” He added

indifferently, “Also, I‘ve always detested him.” Damien looked rather proud to be a so–called “freak”. He

seemed to be saying, “I can do whatever I want because I‘m rich. What are you going to do about it?”

“If you don‘t find me a chauffeur and a car, the whole of Genovia‘s going to condemn you if something

happens to me, especially since I‘m now in your hands,” Clarissa said righteously. He chuckled. “Would

I be afraid of that?”

“I know you‘re not afraid of anything.” He probably didn‘t want to waste time squabbling with her

anymore. “I’ll get you a BMW, and the chauffeur will report to you this afternoon. Bring Mrs. Faber

along with you whenever you leave the house. I‘m going to go to work now.” “Alright. Thank you,”

Clarissa said politely.

Damien, who had already turned to leave, suddenly turned back around. He lifted her jaw and looked

into her eyes, his gaze cold. “You‘re welcome.”

He sounded extremely sarcastic.

Once he was gone, the atmosphere in the apartment immediately relaxed.

Clarissa let out a sigh of relief and sat down on the sofa to check her phone.

Joseph had just added her to a group chat on WhatsApp. It was a workgroup for First, and aside from

the two of them, there were ten other people.

These were all of First‘s current employees.novelbin

All ten of them had completed their master‘s and were certified public accountants. Clarissa, who had

only completed her degree, felt a little embarrassed to be delegating work to them.

As a startup company, all of First‘s employees were raring to go. Every day, they would share new

projects that they had received, or updates on their existing projects, as well as the results of projects

they had already completed. Penelope: (It‘s been half a month since I joined First, and I‘ve already

completed three projects on my own. I wonder how many President Johnson‘s completed. In fact, I

haven‘t even seen President Johnson before.]

This was a WhatsApp message from one of the employees, Penelope Henderson.

Clarissa hadn‘t been to the office since Nicole had pushed her down the stairs, so she had never seen

Penelope before.

After a short while, though, Penelope retracted the message.

Clarissa had still seen it. She felt uncomfortable.

Joseph privately sent her a list of potential projects. Joseph: (Clarissa, I‘ve prepared this list. If you‘re

okay with it, you can contact a couple of them and try to get the projects and then complete them on

your own. Do you have any problem with that?] Clarissa: (Sure.)

Joseph: [Make sure to take care of yourself. Don‘t push yourself too hard.]

Clarissa: (Alright.]

She knew very well why Joseph had given her this task. The other staff, who were master‘s holders,

weren‘t too satisfied that she, a degree holder, was their superior. She had only just become a certified

public accountant this year, and in other companies, she would only be an intern. Another thing was

that she hadn‘t contributed any funds to the firm.

Her abilities weren‘t enough to convince the masses.

Clarissa swore to win a few big projects so that she could show them who was boss.

That afternoon, she made several calls and managed to get in touch with two companies, Green City

Facilities and Arisona Construction.

She went through all the information she could find on these two companies. Green City Facilities was

relatively smaller, and it would probably be easier to win the project. Arisona Construction, on the other

hand, didn‘t have a clear hierarchy and was a medium–sized business. It would probably be tougher to

win them over.

At three in the evening, the chauffeur that Damien had arranged for Clarissa

came to report to her. It was a lady named Leah Clark.

It was hard to come across a female chauffeur.

Clarissa was surprised by Damien‘s arrangement. “Mrs. Lawrence, I‘ll be your chauffeur from now on.

This is my cell phone number, and you can call me at any time. Your car is a blue BMW 7 Series, and

I‘ve taken a photo of it for you. You can take a look at it.”. As expected of a female chauffeur! Leah was

very detail–oriented.

She and Clarissa hit it off immediately.

“I need to go to Green City Facilities and Arisona Construction tomorrow. I‘ll send you their locations

tonight,” Clarissa said. Once they had settled the basic things, Leah left. Clarissa went through the

projects she had done in the past until six. From her room, she heard someone opening the apartment

door, and then Damien and Mrs. Faber‘s voices rang out. “Has she taken her medicine?” Damien

asked Mrs. Faber.

“Yes, she has. Should we start dinner?”

Just as Clarissa was focusing on their conversation, her room door was opened.

Damien had a hand on the handle. “Come out for dinner.”
