Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 227

Chapter 227 First!

Clarissa went back to her bedroom and sat down for her class.

She didn’t know whether Madelynn had gone to Damien’s bedroom, nor did she know whether they

had done anything.

She didn’t particularly care, but she couldn’t stop her mind from wandering a little.

Life continued like this for a month and a half.

During the day, she would sleep while Damien would go to work.

Their schedules were completely at odds, so they didn’t see each other for days on end.

Clarissa saw Grandpa Lawrence every day, though. When she woke up in the evening, she would go

downstairs to eat and chat with him. She would tell him about her studies.

“Clary, I know you went abroad to study because you were upset about your mother’s death. If you

come across any problems over there, come home, okay? I’ll be waiting for you.” He patted her hand.

“Okay.” Clarissa was touched.

‘How can someone as kind as Grandpa have a grandson like Damien, who’s so ruthless and cruel?’

On Saturday, Clarissa finally got to rest. Mrs. Faber made tacos and called Clarissa to the table.

Damien was around as well, but he kept a distance. They barely spoke. The tacos smelled delicious,

and Clarissa wolfed down four or five of them. As she praised Mrs. Faber’s cooking, she said that it

had been a long time since she had last had tacos. Mrs. Faber was shocked. She said, “Madam, when

have you had such a voracious appetite?”

This surprised Clarissa. “They’re delicious, so I should have more while I can, shouldn’t I? I won’t be

able to find any that taste this good in Emmeria.”

“Still, it’s a little too much. Don’t tell me…” Mrs. Faber glanced warily at Damien. “Are you pregnant,

Madam? Have you gone to the hospital to check?” “How’s that possible?” Clarissa said instinctively.

Her expression changed. Damien had an ugly look on his face.

To him, Clarissa’s denial was just her way of keeping Grandpa Lawrence and Mrs. Faber from knowing

that she was pregnant with another man’s child.

However, she had truly been telling the truth.

He went upstairs without finishing his food while she continued to eat her tacos silently.

On this night, Clarissa saw that his bedroom door was wide open when she went downstairs to get

some water. The room looked empty, and she guessed that he wasn’t around.

He didn’t even bother coming back at night nowadays. For the next few days, she didn’t see him at all.

Things continued like this for another half a month. One day, Clarissa was so sleepy that she couldn’t

hold on any longer. She decided to take a nap before continuing to study. She didn’t know why she was

becoming drowsy so easily nowadays.

Her laptop was still on.novelbin

Damien went into her room, and his eye was caught by the WhatsApp conversation on her laptop. It

was her conversation with Joseph. Clarissa: (My studies are finally starting to pick up.) Joseph: (You’ve

always been hardworking, and I’m sure you’ll be able to apply to the master’s program next year. Oh,

right, have you two got divorced? When do you plan on coming back?)

Joseph: (Also, our firm’s going to be listed soon, and I’ve come up with plenty of names. Why don’t you

pick one? One of them is “First”, and I like this name because it means that our firm will be the first in

everything. Secondly, it’s our first time working together. What do you think?]

Joseph: (Since you’re not answering, I take it that you’re okay with it? Are you having class or have you

gone to sleep again?] Joseph: (…) The conversation stopped here. He and Clarissa were planning on

opening their own firm! As expected, they were both accountants and had a lot in common!

First!

Their first time working together!

Damien gritted his teeth in anger.
