Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 226

Chapter 226 No Hope for Their Relationship

Clarissa wanted to block out the noise and go back to sleep, but it was too loud to ignore.

She got up, pulled on a robe, and went next door.

Damien’s bedroom door was open. His phone rang again and again, but he wasn’t around

Perhaps he was taking a shower.

Clarissa knocked on the bathroom door. “Your phone’s ringing.”

He probably didn’t hear her, so he didn’t answer. She knocked louder. “Damien, your phone’s ringing!”

He pulled the door open and appeared before her.

It was only for one second, but Clarissa still got an eyeful of his unmentionables.

She tried hard to focus on his face.

They were pretty much divorced by now, and he belonged to another woman. It wasn’t right for her to

ogle him.

“What’s up?” Damien asked, standing there nonchalantly.

“Your phone’s been ringing constantly. I can’t sleep with all the ruckus.” “If it rings again, you can

answer it for me.” After that, he shut the door. Clarissa felt both angry and confused.

The phone rang again.

She took a look at it, and saw that Madelynn was the one calling.

She didn’t want to answer it, but when she saw that there were already more than ten missed calls, she

figured that perhaps Madelynn had something urgent.

“Hello?” Clarissa answered it.

“Where’s Damien?” Madelynn was a little surprised to hear Clarissa’s voice, and her tone carried a hintnovelbin

of hostility.

“Oh, he’s showering.”

“Showering?”

“Yes. Why are you calling?”

“The show I’m currently filming will be up tomorrow night, and I wanted to invite Damien here. Can you

pass the message and ask him whether he’ll come? He probably will. I’ve already told him about this,

but I just wanted to confirm.” Madelynn’s voice took on a hint of repulsion towards Clarissa, and she

was trying her best to show off how close she and Damien were.

“Oh, there’s no need to ask I’ll agree to it on his behalf,” Clarissa said.

“That’s great!” Madelynn was delighted.

She knew that after what had happened with Patrick and Theresa, even if Damien still had feelings for

Clarissa, it wasn’t likely for Clarissa to feel the same.

As expected, Clarissa was already pushing Damien toward her.

Madelynn wanted Damien, and Clarissa wanted to get rid of him. It looked like Madelynn and Damien’s

relationship had received everyone’s blessings, including his ex-wife.

Clarissa had just put the phone down when Damien came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped

around his waist.

“Who was it?” he asked.

“Madelynn. She said that her filming’s winding up tomorrow night, and she wanted to invite you to

celebrate.” Clarissa looked at him expressionlessly.

He picked the phone up to call Madelynn back. “There’s no need for you to call her. I’ve already agreed

to it on your behalf.” She watched him. They stared at each other for ten seconds, and the air between

them was practically crackling with electricity.

“Don’t forget to bring my things over tomorrow. I need them for class.” After that, Clarissa went back to

her room to sleep..

The next day, she tried her best to wake up early to have breakfast with Grandpa Lawrence. Damien

had already gone to work.

“Grandpa, I already told Damien last night that I’ll be staying at home to spend some time with you. I

have to attend online classes, though, and there’s a huge time difference between here and Emmeria,

so I won’t have much time to accompany you during the day.” Clarissa had always been very gentle

when it came to Grandpa Lawrence.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. I’ll be happy as long as you’re at home.”Grandpa Lawrence beamed.

That evening, Damien’s chauffeur brought back Clarissa’s luggage.

She set her laptop up and logged in to the university’s website, then took a nap and got ready to study

through the whole night.

She started napping after dinner, and it was eleven at night when she woke up. There was one more

class for her to attend, so she quickly went downstairs to get herself a glass of water. Noises came

from the door when she got to the living room.

As Clarissa filled her glass up, she took a look to see who it was. Damien and Madelynn walked in.

He was wearing a gray shirt, while she was dressed in a silver gown. Clarissa glanced at them briefly

before turning back to her water. “Thanks for coming tonight, Damien.” Madelynn watched Clarissa’s

back When Clarissa turned to head upstairs, she saw from the corner of her eye that Madelynn gave

Damien a peck on the cheek. Damien glanced at Clarissa. She headed upstairs, poker-faced.

He wrapped an arm around Madelynn’s waist. “Call me whenever you have these things on.”

“Okay!” Madelynn was elated. It looked like there was no more hope for Damien and Clarissa’s

relationship. They were only still married for Grandpa Lawrence’s sake.
