Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 207

Chapter 207 In Love With Clarissa

Damien lowered his head and whispered into Clarissa’s ears, “Buy me a new pair of pants from the

mall next to this hotel.”

Clarissa nodded. “Okay.”

His pants were soaking wet, and it looked terribly inappropriate in a formal setting

“Any specific brands?” Clarissa asked.

“As long as they’re pants. You can pay with my card.”

Clarissa nodded again, and then hurriedly excused herself from the event. Unbeknownst to her, Joseph

had been staring at her all the time. Conversely, Damien kept a cautious eye on Joseph every second

of the way.

“Luke. If you ever need help, you can come to me,” Damien told Luke.

“We’re going to be a family anyways, my dear brother-in-law. I’m engaged, not married yet. Marriage

needs a lot of money!” Luke was slightly drunk at that moment and was slurring his words. “I’m

planning to establish my own company, you see. Would you invest in it?”

Everyone went silent immediately. Joseph tried to stop Luke, but Luke remained as stubborn as a mile.novelbin

Just then, Clarissa returned to the venue with a paper bag in hand.

“There you go.” She patted Damien’s shoulder from behind.

“Shut up! I’m talking to my brother-in-law! Don’t forget about the money for the wedding!” Luke yelled at

Clarissa, incensed that she was interrupting him.

“Luke!” Clarissa wasn’t there to hear what he had said, but she could already guess what had

happened.

Luke pointed a rude finger at Clarissa and yelled, “Don’t raise your voice at me! Connie told me

already! You’re not mom’s biological daughter, so you have no right to shout at me. Don’t scare the

child in your sister-in-law’s stomach!”

“How much do you want?” Damien sneered, leveling Luke with a cold glare. Luke stretched out his

hand and spread open his palms. “This much.”

Clarissa was dumbfounded. ‘He’s crazy! How can he ask for five million so shamelessly?!’ “Luke!

That’s enough!” Clarissa’s face was red with embarrassment and humiliation. Luke, however, pushed

Clarissa roughly and she almost fell down. “Move it!”

By now, he had gotten completely drunk and forgot to put on his usual act. He didn’t even bother to

fake his kindness toward Clarissa, as he often did. “I’ll give you the money when you’re married,”

Damien said.

“That’s more like it!” Luke patted Damien’s shoulder.

Damien dodged immediately.

After what Luke had done to Clarissa, he had been glaring daggers at Luke.

Damien’s terrifying eyes gave Luke a shudder.

The man had said nothing about Luke pushing Clarissa, but his expression was enough to deliver a

cold chill down Luke’s back.

“C-Clarissa, you can keep on talking with Damien.” Luke hurriedly scurried back to his seat

The moment Luke sat down, he realized that his back was already drenched in sweat.

Clarissa had been standing behind Damien the entire time, so she didn’t see Damien glaring at Luke.

“What?” Damien turned around to see Clarissa with a paper bag.

“Get changed.”

Damien stood up and looked at Clarissa. “Come with me.”

Clarissa knew he would do something weird if she didn’t go with him. That, and she didn’t want Joseph

to feel awkward when that happened.

So, she didn’t refuse and went along with Damien. There was a toilet in the private room. While

Clarissa helped Damien take off his clothes, she said, “You don’t have to tolerate my brother.”

“Oh? Why?” Damien asked, pretending as if he didn’t know anything.

“Just don’t.” Clarissa couldn’t tell him what she really thought. Her unease was still strong in her.

She had a feeling Damien was setting up a trap for Luke.

Her reason for that assumption was simple. The whole, she could sense Damien’s anger. Yet, he

remained eerily calm and composed.

“Is it wrong for me to be kind to my brother-in-law?” Damien let out an innocent chuckle.

Clarissa was squatting in front of Damien, helping him to put on his boxers. “The better you’re treating

him, the more he’ll…” Before Clarissa could finish, Damien pulled her head toward him. Everything

Clarissa wanted to say died on her lips. Clarissa could hear Luke and Emily talking outside. “Why aren’t

your sister and President Lawrence coming out yet?” After a while, Clarissa stood up and muttered,

“Pervert!” Then, she left the toilet.

Damien followed her out.

Just by seeing Clarissa’s reddened face, Joseph immediately knew what had just happened.

He sank into helplessness.

Theresa, meanwhile, was thoroughly embarrassed over her son’s shameless behavior earlier. “By the

way, Joseph. Do you have a girlfriend?” Theresa asked.

“No.”

“What’s your type?”

Emily glanced at Joseph before speaking in a joking tone, “You probably didn’t know this, Mom, but

Joseph’s ideal type is Clarissa. He was in love with Clarissa. Too bad she’s already

taken.”

After that, Emily looked at Damien.

But he was holding onto his glass, looking unbothered by her words.

“Oh?” Theresa didn’t know how to react. Unfortunately, that gave Emily a chance to continue.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be leaving for another country soon.” Joseph quickly interrupted in a melancholy tone.

“Oh, another country? I see.” Theresa privately hoped this conversation would come to an end too.
