Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 164

Chapter 164 He Traversed the Snow

Several days before the holiday season, Clarissa was kept busy. She constantly worked overtime

Damien hadn’t gone to see her for the past few nights.

He was very busy as well, having to manage the whole corporation. He almost didn’t contact Clarissa

at all.

Both were both busy with their own things.

However, Damien’s chauffeur would come over in the day to move the things Theresa and Clarissa

would use during the holiday season to Damien’s house,

Theresa felt uneasy.

“Do you think it’s appropriate for us to spend the holidays with the Lawrence family?” she asked Mrs.

Cole.

“Why not? He’s your son-in-law, and I can tell that he treats Clarissa pretty well,” Mrs. Cole said.

It was only at this moment that Theresa smiled with relief.

‘Clary doesn’t know yet that Damien already found out about the corneas.’

On the day before the holiday season, everyone got to leave the office early.

Lily: (Clarissa, happy holidays. See you after the holidays!)

Lily had sent Clarissa a message.

Clarissa: [Happy holidays. to you, too! I hope you’ll be able to win Landon over soon!)

Lily: (I heard that management’s going to give everyone a bonus this evening. Let’s wait and see. I

wonder how much I’ll get this year.]

Clarissa didn’t know much about the bonus as she was busy packing.

Damien: [I’m busy with something, so you can go back to the villa first.]

Damien had sent her a message as well.

Clarissa didn’t want him to pick her up, anyway. She couldn’t help but feel that something had come

between them recently, and they had nothing to talk about.

And so, Clarissa went back to the Hill Villa,

Theresa and Mrs. Cole were already there.

Damien had even bought a cat. It looked like a thoroughbred with its shiny black fur and sharp eyes.

Clarissa loved it instantly.

“Why did he suddenly buy a cat?” She sat down on the sofa and caressed the cat’s fur, delighted.

“Mr. Lawrence thought the house was too empty,” Mrs. Faber explained. “The house feels a lot emptier

ever since you moved to stay with your mother, Madam.”

Clarissa lowered her head, not saying anything.

“Does it have a name?”

“Uh…” Mrs. Faber was hesitant.

“What’s it called?” Clarissa asked again.

Grandpa Lawrence laughed again

Just then, Clarissa’s phone chimed.

She checked it to see that she had received a bonus of 35 thousand dollars.

This was the fruit of her labor, and she was pleased.

Someone knocked on the door, and Mrs. Faber answered it. The chauffeur walked in with a bunch of

fireworks in his arms

“President Lawrence ordered these a while back and told me to have them delivered here,” he said to

Grandpa Lawrence.

“This many?” Grandpa Lawrence said.

“Well, since Damien likes them, leave him be. It’s the holidays, after all,” Theresa said.

Clarissa didn’t know that Damien loved fireworks so much.

It was a little past five, and the sky was turning dark. It had started to snow, but Damien wasn’t back

yet.

Clarissa wanted to set off some fireworks in the courtyard, so she asked Mrs. Faber to accompany her.

The fireworks had been set up in the courtyard, but she didn’t have the nerve to actually light them. The

few times that she’d mustered up the courage to light them, the snow had extinguished the matches

she’d lit

While Clarissa was in the midst of dejection, the door opened and Damien walked in.

He was dressed in a long coat, covered in snow.

He had come to her, traversing the snow.

This endeared him to Clarissa. She immediately wanted to run over to him and hold an umbrella up for

him,

Before he came back, she had been worried about the road conditions, and that he would get into an

accident

She couldn’t help looking down on herself. She had already decided to put a stop to her feelings until

this marriage ended, and yet…

“Setting off fireworks?” Damien asked her.

“Yes, but Madam hasn’t managed to light them yet,” Mrs. Faber said excitedly.

With a lighter in hand, Damien walked over to the fireworks.

The fireworks started to spark and crackle, and Clarissa retreated with her hands over her ears.

The fireworks flew into the air and exploded in a myriad of shapes and colors.

Clarissa laughed happily at the wonderful sight.

“Do you like them?” Damien asked, standing next to her.

“Yeah,” she answered sincerely.

“How do they fare compared to the ones you saw on New Year’s Day?” he continued asking.

Clarissa’s mood instantly soured. So, this was what he was leading up to.

Damien went back to the living room when he saw her smile gradually fade.
