Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 163

Chapter 163 Your Husband’s Getting Old

By the time Clarissa got off work, it was already past eight.

She had deliberately stayed late so she didn’t have to leave with Damien.

When she got back to her mother’s house, Damien wasn’t around.

“Clary, you’re back! Are you hungry?” Theresa asked.

“Yeah, I’m starving. I want some buffalo wings.” Clarissa missed its taste.

“Oh, you! Why eat buffalo wings when you can have something healthy?”

“Mom, I miss the taste of buffalo wings,” Clarissa said as she wrapped her arms around her mother’s

“Alright, alright. I’ll ask Mrs. Cole to make you some. Honestly, I don’t know who you take after, with

your love for spicy food,” Theresa chuckled.

“You, of course.” “I don’t…” Theresa suddenly switched tacks. “I guess you’re right. I loved spicy food

when I was young.”

Psa

Mrs. Cole made Clarissa some buffalo wings. She sat down at the dining table and ate them while

watching TV.

Their place wasn’t too spacious, so the dining table was in the living room.

The doorbell rang, and Mrs. Cole opened the door.

Damien walked in.

Clarissa was busy eating. She pretended not to see him and continued to watch TV.

“Mr. Lawrence, why have you only come at this hour?” Mrs. Cole had always been nervous when

Damien was around. Perhaps it was because she had never come across someone as dignified as

him.

“I was afraid a certain someone wouldn’t dare to come home if I were to get here early,” Damien said.

His gaze was trained on Clarissa as he said this.

Mrs. Cole said, “You guys talk, then. I’m going back to my room.”

Clarissa continued eating while watching TV, as if there was no one else around.

She was watching a soap opera. At this moment, the male and female lead were arguing about getting

divorced. The female lead couldn’t stand the male lead anymore, and insisted on getting a divorce. She

kept kicking up a fuss.

‘What’s the point of acting this way? If I were in her shoes, I’d give him the cold shoulder and wait for

my feelings for him to fade away. Once I stop feeling things for him, we’ll naturally get divorced.’

“Is that all you‘re eating?” Damien sat down on the sofa behind her.

“Yeah.” Her tone was calm.

Damien glanced at the TV, and then asked her, “What do you plan to do during the holidays? It’s

starting in a few days.”

“My mom just woke up. I want to stay with her. I’ll think of something to tell Grandpa.” Clarissa kept her

eyes trained on the TV.

He turned to look at her. “Since when have you been so considerate?”

“Haven’t I always been considerate?” She had a buffalo wing in one hand and a tissue in the other.

Then.

she wiped her mouth.

“Does that mean you‘re going to just send Grandpa a text?”

“That was my plan, yes.”

“Since you‘re a sugar baby, is this the right way to treat your sugar daddy? Shouldn’t you be doing your

duty?” Damien found himself growing furious at Clarissa’s indifference.

Clarissa paused. Has Connie told him?

She couldn’t wait for the world to descend into chaos!

“I’ll do what I’m supposed to, but may I take the holiday season off? I’ll go see Grandpa in a few days.”

Clarissa remained calm. This wasn’t her first time taking some time off.

“I’ll give you five hundred thousand dollars if you spend ten days with me. It’s been a while since I last

gave you money.” Damien lit a cigarette.

He had almost forgotten that they had first gotten together because of money.

He was close to thinking that it had been because of love.

Clarissa stopped eating. “What about my mom?”

“You can bring her to the villa for the holidays. We can spend the days together,” Damien answered.

She gave it some thought, and then nodded. “Alright.”

“Also…” Damien trailed off.

“What?”

“Stop getting mad at me because of that man. I’m old, and I can’t take it.” After that, he got to his feet

and left.

He didn’t spend the night here. He didn’t even express the intention to.

Silence descended over the apartment once the door was shut.

Clarissa had originally planned on keeping things between them plain and simple up till their divorce.

However, he managed to drag her back into the depths of hell with just one simple sentence,

Her heart was aching.
