Chapter 1043 Teaching Susan A Harsh Lesson

Chapter 1043 Teaching Susan a Harsh Lesson

"What do you mean?" Susan hardened her voice, "Don't scare me!"

"So many cards, only four Aces, how did you manage to draw one?" Chris smirked, teasing.

"Stop pretending!" Susan retorted, her eyes betraying a sense of foreboding beneath her tough facade.

Chris, without further ado, chuckled and revealed his hand, a bright red number that nearly blinded

Susan – the Ace of Hearts!

"No way! How is this possible?" Susan was astonished at Chris's hand, almost dropping her jaw. She

hadn't expected Chris to actually have an Ace!

Just four Aces in the deck, how was it possible for Chris to draw one? It was inconceivable! Was Chris

incredibly lucky, or was he cheating?

"Mom, you've lost! I hope you can admit it and promise not to gamble again!" Chris taunted.

"Chris, stop talking nonsense!" Susan's face flushed as she immediately erupted into a tirade.

"Chris, you little rascal, I'm sure you cheated! Otherwise, how could you have an Ace?" She demanded

a hundred billion, claiming the game didn't count.

Chris's expression darkened slightly at this. He did employ some tricks. With his skill, he could cheat

right under the nose of the world's most formidable players, and they wouldn't notice. But if they didn't

notice, they had to concede defeat.

Susan was reneging, clearly intending to throw a tantrum.

Esther, witnessing this, couldn't stand by any longer. "Mom, you clearly lost. How can you accuse Chris

of cheating?"

"Shut up!" Susan roared at Esther, "This is none of your business! Get out of here!"

"You... are just unreasonable!" Esther trembled with anger at Susan's outburst.

How unlucky she was to have a mother like this.

Chris's face darkened instantly as he heard Susan berating Esther. "I won't allow you to insult Esther!"

His sternness emanated an imposing authority.

Susan, however, remained unyielding. "Chris, your words are laughable. Esther is my daughter, why

shouldn't I scold her? Even if I want to hit her, it's completely justified. She should give me money; it's

her duty."

In Susan's mind, Esther was her daughter, and whatever she did was justified. After all, it was just

about money. Esther's personal assets were in the billions, so giving her a few billion was nothing.

However, Chris, a mere son-in-law, had the audacity to interfere with her requests to Esther for money,

which she found despicable.

"That's right! Esther is indeed your daughter, but she's also my wife!" Chris spoke coldly. "I won't allow

anyone, not even you as her mother, to disrespect her."

With these words, Chris no longer concealed his killing intent. The room's temperature rapidly dropped

as his icy demeanor spread.

Susan couldn't help but shiver. She had wanted to say something, but feeling Chris's chilling aura, she

faltered.

Seeing her daughter cry, Susan's demeanor shifted. Since she couldn't speak ill of her daughter, she

remained silent. After all, Esther was her daughter, and Chris was her son-in-law. Susan couldn't

believe Chris would dare to challenge her.

"This is absurd! Chris, you're just a superfluous son-in-law. What gives you the right to speak to me like

this? I'm your mother-in-law. Are you disrespecting me, trying to kick me out of this family?" Susan

suddenly began to throw a tantrum.novelbin

Seeing this, Chris frowned. Previously, out of respect for Esther, he had overlooked Susan's behavior.

But now, Susan not only refused to admit her loss but also yelled at Esther. This had crossed his line.

He had to teach Susan a harsh lesson; otherwise, who knew what she might do next?

"Stop this, Susan. Your usual tricks won't work on me anymore. Let me make this clear: you lost, and

no amount of your tantrums will change that," Chris declared coldly. "I'll make a call now to ensure that

nobody on the East Coast will gamble with you again. Let's see how you'll gamble then."

"Do you dare?" Susan panicked at Chris's words. If nobody would gamble with her, how would she

make up for her previous losses?

"Do you think I won't?" Chris sneered and, without further ado, called James Mester.

"James Mester, spread the word: from now on, no one is allowed to gamble with my mother-in-law!"

Chris's tone turned threatening. "If anyone disobeys..."

Chris's chilling threat left Susan in despair. Ding! Ding! At this moment, Susan's own phone began to

ring.

"What? You won't gamble with me anymore? Why on earth?" Susan's voice grew increasingly

desperate.

"Ah! What did you say? I can't enter your casino anymore?"

"You scoundrel, you're actually cutting ties with me!"

Subsequently, Susan received a dozen more calls, each rejecting the prospect of gambling with her. It

was no joke; when the king of the East Coast issued an order, who would dare to defy it?

Gradually, Susan's complexion turned pale. Chris sneered disdainfully. He had anticipated this

outcome. If he wished, he had a hundred ways to ruin Susan. Suddenly, Susan's expression turned

unprecedentedly grim.

Glaring at Chris, she screamed, "You scoundrel! It's all because of you! Who are you to stop others

from gambling with me? You scoundrel, you're nothing but a jinx in my family. Get out of the Jefferson

family!"

As she spoke, Susan lunged at Chris. She seemed determined to scratch his face.

Chris reached out and grabbed Susan's hand. "You scoundrel, let go of me!" Susan struggled and

cursed.

"Shut up!"
