Chapter 118

Chapter 118

“We’re getting my stuff, and then we’re getting the hell out of there,” I told Luca. It was my first timeback at the mansion, and I had mixed feelings.

Christian’s words hurt me a lot, and I couldn’t stop thinking about them. He did not only called us dirtyAlfonzo’s, but he also had the nerve to say Siena wasn’t one of us.

“I understand.” Luca spoke. For some reason, he was reticent, which was only adding to my nerves. “Ithought he wouldn’t be home, but I think he is.” He sighed.

“I honestly don’t care. I have nothing to say to him.” I shrugged. Even Luca was surprised after hearingabout Christian’s words and could not find it in his heart to defend him. “I’m on your side. Please don’tforget that He reminded me for the tenth time. “Great, let’s go-I’m ready.”

If I hadn’t heard about Christian’s shocking words. I would’ve taken Siena with me so he could at leastsee her-but he put me in a situation where I couldn’t. I was afraid to let her alone with him when Icouldn’t even defend myself.

The entire estate was empty, which I had no problem with. The last thing I needed was for everyone tostare at me. “It seems like I have to use you one last time.” I spoke to the key as I unlocked the door.

“All I have to do is grab my stuff and get out of here,” I told Luca as we walked through the door, but themoment we took our first step Christian walked towards us. “No,” Luca spoke as he covered his body infront of me to protect me.

“She doesn’t want to talk to you. All she wants to do is to grab her stuff and leave, don’t make it harderfor yourself.” Luca told him. “Serena, please don’t do this.” Christian pleaded, but all I could think aboutwere his words. Dirty Alfonzo’s

“Luca, let him be, I spoke as I walked past him and made my way upstairs to grab my stuff. Christianfollowed behind, but he did not lay a finger on me. The message of me not wanting him to touch mewas very clear.

I pulled out one of my suitcases and pushed in everything I could. I was not in the mood to fold things.and I did not want to be in the same room as him. “So you’re not going to say anything?” Christianasked.

The sadness in his voice made me miserable, and I had to remind myself why I hated him. I could notfeel sorry for him. I couldn’t.

I cursed under my breath and kicked my feet against the suitcase as I used all my strength to close it.“Let me help you,” Christian offered, but I pushed him away.

“Don’t touch me, please.” I spoke. Christian listened and took a step back. “Serena, don’t be like this.”He sighed. “Luca!” I called out before I heard loud footsteps on the stairs. “What is it-what is he doing?”Luca asked in a hurry,

“He’s breathing.” I spoke as I rolled my eyes and rolled the large suitcase towards Luca. “I’ll put it in thecar.” Luca offered and gave Christian one last glare. “Cheater.” He muttered under his breath.

“Serena, if you need your space, that’s fine-but can we at least work something out for Siena?”Christian had the nerve to ask. My blood was boiling, and it made me pissed. I couldn’t get to him, somy poor suitcase and my poor clothes had to live off my anger.

“Are you sure you care about her? Or do you see her as a dirty Alfonzo?” I asked and stormed to thebathroom. “Dirty Alfonzo? What are you even talking about!” Christian lied again. That was the worst

thing, his lies.

“So you did not say you would kill all the dirty Alfonzo’s or that Siena is yours and that she’s aLamberti?” I finally lost my patience. The original plan was to ignore him, but I couldn’t do it. I neededanswers.

I turned around to read the expression on his face, and he seemed devastated. Although I had a prettygood idea Dario was telling the truth, I was holding on to the little bit of hope that he wasn’t-but the lookon his face said enough.

“Or let’s talk about what kind of hypocrite you are. I can’t beat up Gina, but you can beat up Dario, whohas done nothing?”

“Of course, Dario. Christian sighed. “Serena, listen-he’s trying to ruin me, and he’s trying to comebetween us—”

“I know!” I spoke, annoyed. “But you can’t blame Dario for cheating, and you also can’t blame him forcalling us dirty Alfonzo’s!”

“Serena, I didn’t mean it.” Christian stepped forward as I continued to throw everything into a bag.“That’s funny-It came to my attention that you say a lot of things you don’t mean!”

“Yes, and I’m sorry!” Christian apologized. “One day, you’ll have to pay for these consequences!” I toldhim, “You’re not taking Siena away from me.”

“What? What are you talking about? I would never do that!” Christian defended himself, but it was notjust Christian. “And your family?” I asked. Christian took a deep breath and lowered his head as he wasprobably thinking of words to say.novelbin

“My dad will bring her over once a week so that you can see her for a few hours. Not here, but at yourfamily’s house-I don’t want you to be alone with her. And don’t ask me not to do this. You have brought

this upon yourself.” I spoke as I tried my hardest not to meet his eyes. I did not want to do this, but hiswords scared me. I would not let him steal my baby away from me.

“Are you serious? Are you sick?” Christian asked. Luca leaning against the door with the sameconfused look on his face. “I’m serious. You won’t be alone with her anymore. You have to gain mytrust.”

“And is this your decision or your family’s decision!” Christian yelled as he took a few steps forward. The dark look on his face made me step back, and he appeared to be seconds away from attackingme. “I told you I loved you, I still love you-but this time you’re pushing it!”

“I’m pushing it?” I asked. “You’re the one who threatened to kill all Alfonzo’s, and you said Siena isyours, but I’m pushing it?”

“Yes, you’re pushing it.” Christian nodded his head and slammed his hand against the wall as hecornered me. “I helped you out of that low-class neighborhood. I helped you out of two shitty jobs, I waswilling to give you everything-but in the end, we both betrayed each other.”

His words cut deeper than a knife. They were right when they said to listen to people when they wereangry because that’s when the real truth comes out. “If you were willing to give me everything, thenwhy did you cheat on me?” I asked him. I knew Christian’s heart and knew he would never lay hishands on a woman, but the way he switched scared me.

“Serena, please don’t do this. I need you, and I love you and Siena. Just come back home, and we canwork this out.” Christian softened his eyes and moved his hand to my cheek. “Since when have weever let our families come between the two of us?”

you think I can come back here and sleep with one eye open after what you said about the Alfonzo’s?”I chuckled in disbelief. “Just so you know, I was willing to forgive you, you know that-but all you do islie, and I can’t take it anymore.”

“What I said was stupid, and I didn’t mean it. Do you know why I said those words?” Christian spoke. “Isaid those words because Dario told me I should worry about you not letting me see Siena-

“Which makes it even worse! Do you hear yourself?” I wondered. “Don’t you get tired of your excuses?”

“I didn’t mean it, I don’t know why I said it, and I’m sorry-but I didn’t mean it,” Christian spoke defeated.“Just don’t take her away from me. You can’t take her away from me, please.”

“You’re stealing my sentence. I’m supposed to say that I sighed as I closed my eyes and took a deepbreath. “Serena, did you decide to let me see Siena once a week-or did your family push you to dothat?” Christian asked. “Because I know the woman I love is not that kind of person.”

“Siena needs her dad, and she does not deserve to suffer because of my mistake, so please think thisthrough Christian requested. “She needs both of us.”

“But your words. I reminded him. If anyone was willing to fight for Siena to be with both of her parents,it would’ve been me, but the childhood trauma of hearing someone would take something away fromme had scared me. I heard it so many times before. I couldn’t even keep count.

Iwill take away your privileges.

I will take away your happiness.

I will take away all the things you care about.

I heard them all before, and they had yet to prove me wrong, so the thought of someone taking awaymy daughter, regardless of it being Christian, scared me. “Serena, I love you, and I know you still loveme.” Christian desperately looked at me and waited for an answer.

“I hate you,” I lied and looked the other way. Who was I trying to convince? “You don’t hate me. Yourfamily.

hates me.”

“It doesn’t matter. You don’t love me. You ran to protect Gina while I was literally there. You don’t loveme -you love the idea of me.” I told him. It was something he had to hear.

“Have you seen her face? Did you want her to press charges?” Christian asked. “I helped her, and Isilenced her, and I did it for you. Yes, I made mistakes, but I’m trying to do better, and everything I do, Ido it for you!” Christian spoke as he grabbed my shoulders. “And now I’m asking you to find a solution,or I’ll find one myself.”

“W-what?” I stuttered. “Serena, I love you more than I love myself-but if you really think I’m going to sitback and patiently wait to see my only daughter, my life, under supervision once a week, then youbetter think again!”

There it was again.

It didn’t take long before my anger took over, and my fist connected with Christian jaw. “Ouch.” Lucagasped and stepped forward while he waited for Christian’s reaction. “So you love me so much, you’reforcing me to either get back together, or it’s war? Is that it?”

Christian touched his cheek and gave me a startled look. “First, you disrespect the neighborhood Iused to live in, then my job as a stripper, then my job at the factory, and now you’re threatening me?”

“I never disrespected you, and I never threatened you” Christian shook his head. “Yes, you did-and if 1were you, I would look up the definition of love.” I spat before I roughly pushed him aside. “Luca, let’sgo.”

“Yes!” Luca replied and carried my other suitcase while Christian glared at him. “Make sure she’s safe,”Christian told him as I scoffed and stormed down the stairs.

Make sure she’s safe? After he threatened me, he wanted to make sure I was safe?

“Are you okay?” Luca asked me and opened the car door. “You are crying.” He sighed.

“I didn’t notice.” I smiled as I wiped my tears. My life was so perfect, and things were never supposedto be this way. I was supposed to get married, and we were supposed to raise our daughter together.

“So what are you crying about?” Luca stared at me.

“I’m crying because I can’t stop loving him.”
