Chapter 52 Next Door Girl
Daphne was stunned: “That man has a wife, and the girl still took a picture with him?”
“That man’s wife is pregnant! She sat here waiting for a table, while the man went to the front to get anumber. That girl had no idea he was married! After she found out, she immediately deleted the photo,and even apologized to his wife with a very sincere attitude. She seemed quite polite.”
“Well, if she didn’t know and apologized as soon as she found out before deleting the photo, then it’s allgood.”
“Yeah, but the wife just wouldn’t let it go. She followed her all the way from here to the pumpkincarriage over there, cursing and accusing the girl of seducing her husband, Actually, the girl didn’t wantto argue with a pregnant woman, so she went to take other photos over there, trying to diffuse thesituation. Shrugging, the girl next to them replied, “Maybe, she felt threatened since that girl is quite pretty… Hey,that girl looks a bit like you, come to think of it.”
She pointed at Lysander and said, “She has a very gentle and soft temperament with a simple ponyand wore simple and elegant clothes. Really, at first glance, she really looks quite similar to you.”
Her boyfriend next to her added, “She has a very ‘next-door-girl’ look to her.”
The girl immediately nodded in agreement. “Yes, she gives off a high-school puppy love’ vibe. Honey,don’t you think she looks a lot like this girl?”
Her boyfriend carefully looked at Lysander and nodded emphatically. “Appearance wise, it’s not thatsimilar, but it’s mainly her aura. It really is quite similar, especially from the back, as the resemblancreally high.”
Daphne chuckled after hearing this, “Now I suddenly understand this pregnant woman. If that girl reallyis as beautiful as my friend, it’s understandable to be afraid of her husband being tempted.”
Lysander lightly tapped her, “Be serious.”
“I am serious,” Daphne said. “You know, back when we were in middle school, a lot of people had acrush on you, but you were the top student in the whole grade, so those boys didn’t dare to directlypursue you.”
Lysander didn’t quite believe it, “But, when you were the top student, didn’t you have plenty of guysconfessing to you?”
“Well, that guy had ulterior motives! He didn’t really like me, so it doesn’t count.”
Lysander chuckled. “Forget it, it’s been so many years. Why bring this un now?”

“Exactly.” Daphne rolled her eyes, looking annoyed. “I have to tell you, I watched a variety showsegment before. There was a female celebrity who was quite good-looking and was married to a baldmale actor. She was always suspicious that other women were trying to seduce her husband, but withher husband’s looks… It’s hard to put into words. And yet, she always thought her husband was themost handsome man in the world. I was speechless at her actions. I guess the couple we just saw isprobably similar, and her husband might also be a bald and ugly
man.”
The girlfriend immediately said, “Not this couple, I saw everything. The husband of the pregnantwoman is indeed quite handsome and tall too. If he wasn’t handsome, the girl wouldn’t have taken aphoto with him.”
“What about the pregnant woman? Is she pretty?”
“Average, not ugly, but not beautiful either. She just looks like a Jane Doe.”
Daphne said, “No wonder she feels insecure.”
Lysander pushed her gently, changing the subject, “What number are we?”
“1036, Daphne said helplessly. “We still have to wait for a while.”
“Should we go eat somewhere else?”
“No way!” Daphne insisted, “Last time we missed out on eating at this restaurant. This time, I’mdetermined to wait no matter what.”
Lysander shrugged, “Okay, I’ll accompany you then, my lady.”
As they were conversing, there was another disturbance at the restaurant entrance with a sharp femalevoice yelling loudly.
Daphne stood on her tiptoes and craned her neck to catch a glimpse, whispering, “I hope it’s not thatpregnant lady again.”
However, because she was not tall enough, she struggled to see past the crowd despite her efforts.
The girlfriend nudged her boyfriend, “You’re tall, so can you see?”
The boy leaped up and glanced over, exclaiming, “Oh my, it really is her!”
Excited by this news, Daphne grabbed Lysander and said, “Let’s go. I want to see what’s happeningtoo!”
