Chapter 51

The Charming Ex-Wife

Chapter 51 Presumptuous

Lysander and Daphne went their separate ways upon their arrival.

Lysander was responsible for saving them seats, while Daphne went to the front to get a number.novelbin

The popular restaurant they visited was an Italian restaurant. The owner had taken care to renovateand decorate the store with a unique European style.

Lysander believed its popularity stemmed from being ideal for photos and check-ins, rather than thequality of the food.

The restaurant boasted classical medieval European architecture, a baroque roof, and an overallmagnificent appearance resembling a banquet palace

Plus, the owner was a marketing genius as they had placed a pumpkin carriage at the entrance, attracting many young girls who were eager to take photos with it.

Alas, she was just enjoying the ambiance when a commotion ensued as a group of people surroundedthe pumpkin carriage. It seemed they were engaged in a heated dispute.

She was quite a distance away when she heard a shrill yet familiar voice.

“Why are young girls nowadays so ignorant? Don’t they understand that pregnant women havepriority?”

A chillingly familiar figure stood sentry behind her.

Although he was as tall as ever, he was also noticeably thinner. Now, he no longer wore the sleevegarter that once gave him a noble and arrogant air. Lysander couldn’t help but shoot a glance at hisloose sleeve cuff. He’s probably too emaciated for it now. It’ll fall off if he does wear it.

Lysanne was harshly berating a teenage girl while he stood awkwardly. Eventually, he tugged her awaand said, That’s enough.”

“Stop pulling me. I will teach these impolite girls a lesson today. The elderly, weak, sick, and pregnantdeserve priority wherever they go!”

The young girl argued, “This isn’t a bus or subway. It’s just a tourist spot for selfies.”

“Respect should be shown to vulnerable groups in any public areas. Speaking of, why were youleaning toward my husband? He’s married, and I’m pregnant!

“I didn’t!”

“How dare you deny it? I saw you taking photos of him!”

The young girl, unable to match Lysanne’s unreasonable words, burst into tears. She hastily coveredher face and fled the scene.

“I-I’m sorry,” The young girl stuttered out an apology before fleeing in a panic.

Suddenly, Lysander heard Josiah’s voice, “Lysander…

Lysander quickly walked away without bothering to look back.

Fortunately, the crowd was dense, allowing her to escape without Josiah on her tail.

She curled her lips into a bitter smile once she wriggled her way from the crowd. Josiah was most likelycalling Lysanne’s name instead of hers.

After all, his heart and eyes were fixed on the woman he loved. So, how could he have noticed heramidst the bustling crowd?

Lysander, don’t be presumptuous.

To make matters worse, she found her seat taken by the time she returned to the waiting lounge.

When Daphne returned and saw her standing, she asked in confusion, “Why are you standing around?Didn’t I ask you to save a seat for me? This restaurant is crowded. We might have to wait for an hour or

two.”

Lysander felt remorseful and explained. “I got distracted around the entrance.”

Daphne inquired, “What was it?”

“There was just some squabble over photo-taking around the pumpkin carriage-

“It’s more than just a mere conflict!”

The couple sitting beside them commented as the woman remarked scathingly. “That lady is socontrolling. Her husband is tall and good-looking. When a young girl tried to take a picture of him, presumably because she found him attractive, the wife went off like a firecracker. She berated theyoung girl until she started crying! The wife refused to let it go even after the poor girl’s profuseapologies.”
