She shook her head. “I didn’t bring any either. You could go buy some nearby, or call for a delivery.”
“Tiffany is waiting in the bathroom at that moment.”
Lysander said, “Hotels usually have what you need. Just give the front desk a call and explain yoursituation. They’ll send a staff member over shortly.”
“But Tiffany didn’t want others to know about her period.” Josiah appeared nonchalant as he explainedwith a straight face, “She’s shy.”

Josiah was still in the same suit and shoes as before, while Lysander was only wearing a bathrobeover her underwear, her hair still damp.
Without a sidelong glance, Lysander sat down beside the bed. She picked up the landline phone on thebedside table and dialed the reception desk. “Hello, do you have any sanitary pads? Yes, could youplease deliver them to the room… As for the brand…”
She glanced at Josiah, her eyes posing a question to him.
Josiah said, “Anything works.”
On the phone, Lysander said, “Any brand is fine. Please hurry if you can.”
The receptionist noted down the room number. “All right, please hold on for a moment.”
“Thank you.” Lysander ended the call, then looked up at Josiah and said, “It’s done. It’s all sorted out.”
“Okay.” Josiah settled down on the couch, “I’ll leave as soon as they deliver it.”
However, unexpectedly, the five–star hotel operated with the efficiency of a budget inn.
After waiting for a solid half hour, no one came to deliver.
Throughout the period, Lysander had made several calls to the reception. The other end consistentlyassured her that someone had already been dispatched to deliver it, requesting her to wait a bit longer.
Lysander was a bit frustrated.
Upon looking back, her frustration only intensified.
Surprisingly, Josiah had already fallen asleep on the nearby couch.
Judging by his completely relaxed posture and the hand that had tried but failed to prop up hisforehead, it didn’t seem like he was pretending. He was truly asleep.
Lysander trod lightly over, raising her hand and waving it in front of his eyes.
Josiah’s breathing was still slow and steady, and his eyelashes hadn’t even fluttered once. Only hisfurrowed brow, coupled with the faint dark circles under his eyes, served as evidence of his exhaustion.
It seemed he had been incredibly busy these past few days. He hadn’t even bothered to shift into amore comfortable position before falling asleep. He just slept as he was.
Lysander didn’t probe any further. Instead, she picked up the clothes she had prepared for tomorrowfrom the bed and quietly left the room.
Holding her own room key, Lysander knocked on the door of the room where Tiffany was staying.
Upon seeing Lysander approach, Tiffany’s cheeks flushed a subtle pink. She took the sanitary pad fromLysander, a touch embarrassed, and rushed into the restroom. After washing her hands, she finallysaid, “Thank you, Lysa.”
“It’s okay. girls should help each other out.”

The hand seemed to flinch as if startled.
He didn’t let go.
The hand’s owner was clearly more concerned about Josiah, not retracting their hand. Instead, theytenderly touched his forehead, as if checking his temperature again.
With his eyes closed, Josiah curved his lips slightly. He took the hand that was on his face and broughtit to his lips, giving it a soft kiss. “Are you worried about me?”

Josiah said in a low voice, “I’m sorry.”
Tiffany pulled her hand back, remaining silent for a good while before finally speaking up, “It’s… it’sokay.”
Rubbing his tired forehead, Josiah asked, “How did you end up here?”
Tiffany sniffled a bit, explaining in a low voice, “Lysa gave me the pads and mentioned that you hadfallen asleep here. She felt it was inappropriate to stay, so she suggested swapping rooms, leaving meto take care of you. i agreed.”
She changed the rooms?
Josiah couldn’t help but let out a cold chuckle. “She is indeed very polite.”
Lysander had always claimed that he had deceived Tiffany. Now, she seemed to be misleading theyoung woman as well, which wasn’t much of a surprise. The excuse of taking care of him was merely apretext. In reality, Lysander just wanted to offload him onto someone else like he was a burden.
As for whether the other party was Tiffany or anyone else for that matter, Lysander just didn’t care.
