Chapter 417 Some Other Woman

Zane replied. “I can do that, but let me be clear. “Things might not turn our well even if you came.”

Lysander simply said. “I appreciate your help.”

With a sigh. Zane agreed.

Lysander found a nearby café and sat down, waiting and looking up recent property prices inHarborbrook.

After comparing numerous options, she concluded that the designated relocation building had the bestlocation and offered the highest value for money.

Although it required a considerable investment, it was indeed worth it.

Lysander finally grasped the meaning behind Zachary’s words at that moment. Josiah’s name suredoes bring

convenience.

Harborbrook was a radiant metropolis. While the future of housing prices was uncertain, one thing wasclear–they wouldn’t decrease. The city’s excellent location and promising development prospectsensured significant potential for appreciation.

Josiah’s decision to relocate the building here was likely not solely due to its proximity to CentralHospital. He must have considered various other factors as well.

In the afternoon around three o’clock, a message from Zane arrived.

He simply shared a location with Lysander.

Upon closer inspection, Lysander recognized the place to be the very same bar where Adrian–hadtaught her how to play pool last time. Mirage.

Why did Josiah suddenly decide to go there today?

Without a second thought, she immediately hailed a cab and headed in that direction.

Just like Skywatch, Mirage was also exceptionally lively that night.

As soon as she pushed open the door, she was met with a cacophony of noise. Inside, there were atleast twenty people, both men and women.

Zane had been keeping an eye on the entrance. When he saw her come in, he subtly gestured for herto proceed further inside.

Lysander gave a slight nod in gratitude and slowly made her way in the direction he had pointed out.

She soon found her target at the pool table at the very back.

Josiah was standing by the table with a few of his buddies who were leaning on their pool cues, anticipating a good show. A young girl dressed in a hoodie and jeans also stood next to him.

dressed

Lysander’s first reaction was to wonder whether this girl was the same one Zane mentioned who hadanswered Josiah’s phone in the morning.

Or perhaps he had dismissed the one in the morning, and this is a new one.

The girl’s cheeks were rosy, and she was simply dressed in a white hoodie and jeans, her black haircascading down. Next to Josiah, she appeared exceptionally petite.

It seemed as though Josiah was teaching her how to play pool. His tall stature hovered over her as hespoke to her. Their hands, both resting on the same pool cue, were so close that they almost touched.

The men standing across the pool table couldn’t help teasing Josiah mischievously when he didn’tmake any further advancements. “Josiah, who teaches pool like this? You should hold her hand, likeeveryone dors.”

“Exactly! Josiah, you should be a responsible teacher. Verbally instructing her won’t be enough.”

“She doesn’t know how to play yet. If you don’t teach her properly, she’ll find someone else to teach her

sqon.”

Josiah looked up at them and chided playfully. “Even smoking can’t shut you guys up.”

Everyone erupted into laughter.

The girl seemed quite young. Even if she wasn’t a student, she couldn’t have been out of school forlong. Hearing those guys‘ words, she shyly lifted her eyes to glance at Josiah, but he wasn’t looking ather.

Josiah fixed his gaze on the pool cue, seemingly focusing on teaching her. He whispered, “Don’t listento their nonsense. Playing pool requires concentration.”

The girl’s face was flushed. “Am I too foolish?”

“Not at all. It’s only your first day of learning. Take it easy; there’s no need to rush.”

-Could you teach me again? I always seem to miss the mark,” she asked.

Josiah bent down. “All right. Look. The main reason you’re having trouble aiming is because you’re notlowering your line of sight.”

The girl leaned forward further. “Oh, is this okay?”

“Bend a little more.”

“Okay.” The girl continued bending down, almost nestled in his arms.

“All right, this is enough.” Josiah propped his left hand on the pool table for support, his right handgripping the cue in her hand. “With the cue ball, the colored ball, and the pocket all in one straight line, adjust your strength, then make your shot.”

The girl, unable to resist the charm of a composed, gentle man like Josiah, blushed. Following hisguidance, she struck the ball, but a sudden tremor in her hand caused the cue tip to veer off.Consequently, the cue ball that was supposed to hit the target ball deviated from its intended path. “Itstill didn’t go in. What’s going on?”

The guys who were watching/burst into laughter right away.

Aiden, having had a bit too much to drink, chuckled goofily, his gaze unfocused. “They say a goodteacher has exceptional students. Looks like vou failed, Josi I assumed she’d succeed on the first try.”

The girl’s face flushed even more as she stammered, worried that Josiah might be upset. “No, no. It’snot your fault. It’s me. I just can’t seem to get a hang of it. I think I’m just not talented in playing pool…”

Josiah gestured for the waiter to reset the pool table to its previous arrangement. “That’s okay. Let’s tryagain.”

Someone immediately teased, “You sure are patient, Josiah. You better focus, little lady.”

“It’s not every day you get the chance to be coached by Josiah. You might not get another chance likethis if you don’t pick it up now. He’s a busy man after all…”

The girl genuinely wished the ground would swallow her up. Instinctively, she found herself shrinkinginto Josiah’s embrace.

Josiah, holding the cue, scanned the people around him nonchalantly and spoke with his armscrossed. “If you guys are bored, why not play against me for the next round?”

They all shook their heads no hearing that

They were all exceptionally shrewd.

Recently, Josiah had been acting rather out of sorts. Although no one knew why, there was anunspoken agreement among everyone to avoid mentioning it.

Hanging out with him was fine, but they surmised they’d be in serious trouble if they ended up crossingJosiah

One particularly curious guy decided to change the subject as he recalled the last time he saw Josiah.“I remember seeing you leaving with Amelia last night. How come you’re with this innocent young girltoday? Aiden, did you introduce her to Josiah?”

Gazing at him with a grin, Aiden casually shoved his hands into his pockets. “You’re making it soundlike I’m a pimp. Given Josiah’s qualifications, leading a monastic life is the last thing he should do. He

had some emotional baggage before this, but things are different now. He can live his life however hepleases.”

When men gathered, they always spoke without any reservations.novelbin

Josiah seemed oblivious to what they were saying. Once the pool table was reset, he gestured to thegirl standing in front of him to hold the spot on the cue stick where his hand had been. In a deep voice,he said, “Come, let’s try again.”

His friends tactfully chose not to disturb him when he ignored them. Instead, they teased Aiden with asly grin. “Aren’t you

afraid Lysanne will find out what you’ve said? You better be careful, or she might teach you a lessonwhen she comes to spotcheck on Josiah.”

Aiden shrugged dismissively, shaking his head. “Spotcheck on Josiah? She won’t dare to do so now.”
