Chapter 342 Booking A Hotel Room

The shop assistant wore a look of regret. “The nearest ATM is about a alf-hour walk away, across twostreets. Plus, it’s not very safe there at night. Lots of vagrants hang arou d that area.”

Upon hearing these words, Miles quickly understood what was going on. He volunteered, “Just add herbill to mine. How much is it in total? I’ll pay.”

Lysander was somewhat hesitant.

However, Miles just laughed and said, “Don’t worry about it. Josiah can reimburse me later, so youdon’t need to feel like you owe me anything.”

Lysander’s eyes widened in astonishment.

Has Josiah already arrived in Stounia?

She glanced outside the pharmacy and sure enough, there was a car parked. She could vaguely makeout a figure inside the vehicle.

At that moment, the shop assistant announced the total bill.

After paying. Miles handed her a few items. “Let’s go.

When Lysander remained still, Miles chuckled lightly,

“Arguing with Josiah?”

Lysander didn’t know how to answer.

“I was wondering why he would suddenly show up in Stounia late at night and urgently wake me upaccompany him to the hospital. Turns out, you were sick. He probably came rushing over because Iwas worried about you.”

Lysander slightly furrowed her brows.

Have you been in the Stounia recently?

“Yes. After that class reunion, I moved here for work.”

No wonder he’s unaware of all the things that had transpired between me and Josiah, still assumingthat both of us

are married.

“Miles, what’s taking you so long-“Josiah questioned anxiously upon walking in.

However, the moment he caught sight of Lysander, he abruptly stopped.

His gaze was so intense that it made Lysander somewhat uncomfortable, subtly turning her face away.

With a smile, Miles said, “Do you two share some kind of telepathic connection? Even a simple trip tothe pharmacy can lead to a chance encounter. Well, that’s serendipity for you. Josiah, it seems your isinjured. I just saw her buving tetanus medication.”

Lysander quickly waved her hand to indicate otherwise.

However, Josiah had already approached her, his gaze sweeping over he entire body. “Where are you

hurt?”

She continued to shake her head.

“Is it serious? Let me take you to the hospital.”

Lysander took a step back, continuing to gesture in refusal.

Miles was somewhat puzzled. “Josiah, why has your wife suddenly become mute?”

Josiah’s gaze flickered as he casually said. “She’s got a throat inflammation.”

“Inflammation? That’s really serious!”

“Mmm-hmm.”

“We’d better go to the hospital for a check-up. Antibiotics are strictly regulated abroad. I’m not sure ifthey’ll prescribe any anti-inflammatory medication.”

Josiah said, “She’s a doctor.”

Miles was quickly reminded of the fact. “Right, I completely forgot that your wife is a doctor. This makesthings a lot easier. Let’s go. I’ll take you guys to the hospital.”

Lysander still didn’t move.novelbin

In the presence of Miles, an outsider, Josiah couldn’t just lift Lysander’s clothes to check where injured.

However, the exposed arms and lower legs were in perfect condition, showing no wounds. The also noblood stains on her clothes.

Josiah breathed a slight sigh of relief. “Are you planning on staying at this pharmacy tonight?”

Lysander pressed her lips together, shaking her head.

“If you don’t want me to know where you live, I won’t force you. It’s late now. Let’s first go to thehospital to have your injuries treated. Then we can get a room at a hotel.”

Lysander looked up in alarm.

Josiah was telling her about his plan. However, seeing her startled, like a deer in the headlights, hecouldn’t help but slightly curl the corners of his lips. “We’ll get two rooms.”
