Chapter 147 Not Suitable In Adulthood

Leo questioned, “Josiah, what’s really going on with you? Didn’t you marry Dr. Thorne just because hername sounded like Lysanne’s, using her as a stand–in? Now that my real sister is back, why are youstill so protective of her?”

“Shut up!” barked Josiah.

“Josiah-

“Don’t call me like I’m your buddy. I never was, and I never will be.” What Josiah said was rather harsh.

Is he preparing

to sever ties with Lysanne? Upon hearing those words, Lynn was slightly taken aback, stealing a subtleglance at Lysander.

Adrian was casually leaning back, arms crossed, looking as if he was merely a spectator at a play.

The Sutton and Guerra families were among the most reputable households in Harborbrook. Eventhough Adrian had been overseas and didn’t have a personal relationship with Josiah, he was probablyaware of the various rumors circulating within each family,

At the very least, there was his younger brother, the charming playboy, Aiden.

During the years Adrian spent out of the country, Aiden treated Josiah as if he were his older brother. Also, no one understood the complex emotions between Josiah and Lysander better than Aiden.

All Adrian had to do was ask Aiden about the ins and outs of the situation and he would knoweverything.

Howard was the first to become anxious. “Josiah, what do you mean by that? You and Lyss…”

Josiah said, “Mr. Thorne, a lot has happened recently… It made me rethink many things. The feelingswe had in our youth may not be suitable for us in adulthood. We have changed so much over theyears, and we are no longer the children we used to be.”

“I can understand, really. The child Lyss is carrying isn’t yours. As a man, that’s understandably hard toaccept.”

“Mr. Thorne, the child isn’t the main issue.“.

“Why is that?”

“It’s because she was responsible for the death of Old Mrs. Guerra!” Adrian took a deep breath, speaking softly. “When Old Mrs. Guerra was on her last breath, giving her final words, Ms. Lysannecaused a commotion in the ward, leading to Old Mrs. Guerra’s resentful demise.”

Howard and Molly were taken aback. “What?”

“The whole hospital was buzzing with this incident, and there were quite a few who had witnessed itfirsthand.”

Howard still found it hard to believe, so he turned to look at Leo instead.

Howard still found it hard to believe, so he turned to look at Leo instead.

Leo dared not speak, his head lowered to avoid Howard’s gaze. Yet, his silence was his tacitacknowledgement.

Molly was completely stunned, rooted to the spot. “Oh my goodness…”

“It’s not just that. Lynn finally had a chance to speak, and she let it all out, venting her frustration. “Iguess you two haven’t seen the second half of that video. The child Ms. Lysanne was carrying hasbrown skin! Her child isn’t even of Aplothian descent, much less Mr. Guerra’s child! Earlier, Leo keptinsisting that the child was Mr. Guerra’s. Hahaha, if this child is born, that would be the biggest jokeever. Mr. Guerra’s son being a dark–skinned child would make Mr. Guerra the laughingstock of theentire Harborbrook!”

Howard exclaimed in surprise, “Dark–skinned?”

Lynn pointed toward the operating room behind Howard. “When I performed the procedure on Ms.Lysanne earlier, the child was already removed. It’s in there. If you don’t believe me, you can go see foryourself.”

Lynn had a demeanor that suggested a long–awaited vengeance was about to be served. She eagerlywanted Howard and Molly to go inside and see everything clearly for themselves.

Howard’s face was filled with disbelief. “How… How is this possible? Leo! Tell me!”

Leo was nearly in tears. “Uncle Howard, if Lysanne ended up in bed with someone, she wouldn’t tellme. I honestly don’t know…”

“Just tell me if this is true or not!”

Leo was hesitant.

“Speak up!”

In the end, Leo answered, “Yes, it’s true.”
