Howard felt a pang of guilt. “Josiah, I’m truly sorry. We should have been there for your grandmother’s.funeral today. No one could have predicted that something would come up with Lyss…”

Leo was terrified, his face turning pale. He didn’t dare to make a sound, shrinking his neck and subtlyshifting himself further behind the wheelchair.
