Chapter 751 Innocent Woman

Chapter 751 Innocent Woman

Louis saved the document and closed his computer. He checked the time, it was already past sevenin the evening and time to go back. Upon thinking that there would be traces of Jane at his currentresidence, Louis' expression softened and he felt a sense of urgency to go see her.

With this emotion in mind, Louis urged the driver twice on the way back. The driver was shockedbut did his best to reduce travel time by a third while ensuring safety.

From afar, Louis saw lights coming from the villa and couldn't help but smile. Meanwhile, Jane hadspent an afternoon cleaning up the villa and spent over half an hour preparing dinner beforerealizing that Louis may not come home for dinner.

But what if he did? Magazine articles said entrepreneurs like them often had irregular eating habitsand most likely suffered from stomach problems. Today was her first day on duty, so being preparedwouldn't hurt.

Just as she thought about this, she heard the sound of the gate opening outside. Jane quicklywiped her wet hands on her apron and went out to meet Louis.

"Good evening, Jane," said Louis with a gentlemanly smile.novelbin

"Good evening, Louis, have you had dinner?" replied Jane who was completely taken by hishandsome appearance.

Louis raised an eyebrow when he saw Jane's apron and asked, "Not yet. Have you made dinner?"

As they talked, they entered into the clean living room where delicious smells were wafting throughthe air.

"Yes, you come back just in time! I just cooked the last dishes!"

Louis lowered his eyes to cover the joy in them. "Well, then I'd love to try them."

Three dishes plus soup were served. All were ordinary homemade dishes but carefully cooked.

The aroma made Louis who was not so hungry crave food. "Thank you for cooking this meal forme," said Louie appreciatively after taking one bite.

Jane raised an eyebrow and smiled, her eyes shining with excitement. "It's my pleasure to do thisfor you. After all, you're my big boss now."

Louis didn't particularly like her choice of words, but he didn't want to stir up any trouble either.

There was only one set of utensils on the table and Jane stood by without any intention of sittingdown. It wasn't until Louis spoke up that he realized something.

"Don't you want to eat with me?" he asked.

"Since when do servants dine with their bosses?" Jane replied matter-of-factly.

"We're friends though, aren't we? We're helping each other out, not in an employer-employeerelationship," Louis said as he pursed his lips.

Seeing the surprise on Jane's face, Louis paused before continuing in a somewhat dejected tone."Just... pity me a little bit. I don't really have any friends, so it's rare for someone to have dinner withme."

Jane was immediately taken aback by his pitiful expression and felt a pang of sympathy in herheart.

Without thinking twice about it, she quickly grabbed another set of utensils from the kitchen and satacross from Louis at the table.

Louis couldn't help but smile triumphantly but the smile faded the next second.

"Try it out and see if it suits your taste buds. I had limited ingredients today, so I made somethinglight, hoping that it would suit your palate," Jane said.

Louis looked into Jane's expectant eyes and replied with a smile, "Coincidentally, all you cook todayare my favorites."

Louis grabbed one bite and said casually, "Over the years, due to heavy workload, I have sufferedfrom stomach problems, and it is just right to eat light food."

Looking back at him knowingly, Jane thought to herself that successful people always prioritize theircareers over taking care of themselves physically, which is why they end up suffering from illnesseswhen they get older - not worth it at all!

During dinner time together, Louis always seemed to be unintentionally playing the victim, which ledJane into believing that having money doesn't necessarily equate happiness or ease in life; shebegan feeling more affectionate towards him because of this realization alone.

In this way, Louis achieved his goal: leading the innocent Jane to fall for his love trap.
