Over the next few days, Jenna was constantly on edge, especially when she realized that herperiod was half a month late. Her period had always been very regular and never delayed before.Could it be that she was pregnant?
Thinking of this possibility, she quickly went to the hospital for a check-up. The results came outsoon after and Jenna looked at them in disbelief.
She didn't know how she got home or how to face Rhys. She asked him in a low voice, "Did you justsend me back home when you saved me that day?"
In her heart, there was still one last hope - maybe the person who had sex with her wasn't Isaias butRhys.
"Why do you ask?" Rhys hesitated for a moment before answering.
At that time, he took Jenna to Kamden's house first and detoxified her before sending her backhome. He should tell the truth but for some reason couldn't bring himself to say it.
He didn't even know how he would face Jenna after saying it since they had no feelings for eachother and yet they had sex.
"I did send you straight back home. I couldn't leave you outside alone, could I? It's my fault; I didn'ttake good care of you then, but from now on, I will pay extra attention, so no one can kidnap orharm you."
Rhys made many promises afterward, but Jenna didn't hear any of them, as they were just buzzingnoises in her head. Now she knew Isaias was most likely the father of her unborn child.
Why bother living if she carried his baby? She even thought about suicide but hesitated because ofher brother and mother who were still struggling with life themselves. Her mom had been in ICU allthis while without waking up yet; what would happen if something happened to herself too?
"I understand now; I need some rest," said Jenna as an excuse before going back into the bedroomwhere she placed the test report on top of the table.
She needed time to think things through. Perhaps their three-month agreement needed an earlytermination date.
Just then, there was knocking at the door, followed by Mrs. Williams walking into her bedroom.Then Jenna realized she had forgotten about hiding the test report away!
"What is this thing? When did you get pregnant? Why didn't anyone tell me about such goodnews?" Mrs. Williams exclaimed happily while looking at the test report which left poor Jenna feelingmore anxious than ever!
"Mrs. Williams, this child..." Jenna took a deep breath and spoke the truth, "This child is not Rhys' atall. I was kidnapped and drugged that day, and if you do the math, this child was conceived on thatday."
As soon as these words were spoken, Mrs. Williams was stunned and her mouth hung wide open.
"What do you mean? This child is not my son, but rather the criminal's? Jenna, don't joke with meabout this kind of thing, it's not funny at all. If you were drugged that day, why didn't you usecontraception?"
Even if you didn't take any precautions beforehand, you can always take some contraceptive pillsafterwards.
"I... I'm not sure if I had sex with him," Jenna lowered her head.
Since Mrs. Williams has found out, there was no need to conceal it.
She decided to come clean and revealed the agreement between her and Rhys in full detail.
Mrs. Williams took a long time to sort things out and finally let out a sigh, "I thought if I pushed himharder, he would listen to me. I never expected things to turn out like this. Jenna, since you twowere just acting before and now this has happened, there's no need for the act anymore. Let's signan agreement that after you give birth to this child, you two will get divorced directly."
Allowing Jenna to give birth to this child was already her greatest tolerance.
"I will draft an agreement right away, Jenna. During the days you married into the Williams family, Ihave fulfilled my responsibilities towards you. Soon, Mrs. Williams prepared the agreement and printed it out to show Jenna. "This is theagreement, please take a look and see if there's anything that needs to be added. If not, we'll followwhat's written in the agreement."
She had no objections. The Williams family had been treating her well these past few days, andinitially, she took the five million dollars to have Rhys' child.
"I will try my best to pay you back that money." Jenna struggled as she thought about the five milliondollars.
Her childhood was too unfortunate, and facing this unexpected pregnancy, she couldn't bear to giveup. Even if this matter didn't reach Mrs. Williams' ears, she and Rhys would still divorce after threemonths. If she gave up on this child as well, then she truly would have nothing left.
"You don't need to repay that money; I only have one request: stay away from my son a little more.You two shouldn't contact each other anymore unless it's necessary. It's better if you don't even seeeach other at all. Can you do that?" Mrs. Williams made her request.
All she wanted was for her son to live happily!
"I can do that." Jenna suddenly felt heavy-hearted.
She didn't know what happened exactly within herself. Clearly, she didn't like Rhys at all. Leavinghere should be a relief for her, but just thinking of leaving made her feel heartbroken.
"It's good that you can do it; we've signed an agreement together," said Mrs. Williams, "Your brothercan still stay here during this time period until your mother wakes up from coma. Afterward, I'll buyyou a house according to our promise. If you're not sensible enough, then we'll end things." Mrs.Williams warned before getting up and walking out of the room.
She wasn't sure how Rhys felt towards Jenna, whether he was pretending or really did harborfeelings for her. The safest way was for them to never meet again.
