The people in the company all knew that Jenna was Mr. Williams' new wife, and no one dared tostop her. After she went upstairs, the employees started talking.
"Do you think Mr. Williams really loves her? Or is it a family alliance? I heard that marriages inwealthy families are just transactions, there's no real love, only a strong union."
"If it was a daughter from another wealthy family, wouldn't we have heard about it?"
"Who cares? She's already entered the Williams family and gained her mother-in-law's approval.She's our company's lady now. Some people are just lucky and we can't envy them."
"I wonder how long this marriage will last. Maybe they'll divorce soon!"
At this moment, Jenna was already standing outside of the CEO office.
She raised her hand and lightly knocked on the door.
"Come in." Rhys' voice came through succinctly.
Jenna walked straight in and sat on the sofa next to him silently watching him.
Her husband was really outstanding; he was someone she never dared to hope to win over before.
Rhys thought his assistant had come when he didn't hear any sound after waiting for a while butthen looked up with furrowed brows when he saw who it actually was. "Jenna? Why is it you?"
He thought his mom was annoying enough but now he realized what true pressure meant!
"My mom said you need a personal assistant for your daily life, so from now on, I'll be yourassistant. I'll go to work with you every day and share an office with you," Jenna said while lookingdirectly into his eyes.
She knew how absurd she sounded right now but all she wanted at this point was a child so thatMrs. Williams would be satisfied with her performance as Rhys' wife thus allowing herself to escapefrom this ridiculous life eventually.
"I'm old enough to take care of myself; I don't need a personal assistant! Get out!" Rhys becameangrier as he looked at her more closely
He lost his temper completely; his attitude became very bad towards Jenna
But Jenna acted like she didn't hear anything at all - putting down her bag aside - taking out hertablet computer and watching learning videos.
It wasn't until Rhys snatched away the tablet computer violently throwing it onto ground did shereact.
"You just had to come here looking for trouble!" Rhys glanced at the screen which showedaccounting courses. "I really underestimated you. Are you studying accounting knowledge becauseyou want control over the Williams Group?"
He truly couldn't understand what goes through Jenna's mind sometimes.
She's shameless, chasing after me without any dignity. And yet, she's also shameless enough tostay in my office just to study online courses!
"I'm not being daring. I just want to learn a skill so that I can find a job later on," Jenna shook herhead as she looked at the broken tablet on the ground with a heavy heart.
She had only bought it recently and now it was already ruined. What a waste.
Jenna picked up the tablet and blew off some dust from its surface.novelbin
"All I want is one child. After the child is born, if you still don't like me, we'll get divorced. As for Mrs.Williams, having one child should be enough to satisfy her."
After a year or two when their child was born, perhaps Mrs. Williams would come around and stoppressuring her son.
"Hmph! Just as I thought," Rhys sneered.
He knew that Jenna couldn't suddenly bring up divorce out of nowhere; there had to be somethingbehind it all.
But how could Jenna leave once their child was born? Even if she wanted to go through with it, hismother wouldn't let her leave.
"If you're willing to stay here, then stay longer; let this be an end for all those random women whokeep trying to get close to me!"
Rhys wanted Jenna gone immediately but he changed his mind when he realized his mother wasn'tsomeone who would give up easily. Plus, she had heart problems too, so instead of arguing with hismom over this issue, he decided that letting Jenna stay while keeping distance from her himselfwould work better in the long run, since eventually his mom would understand.
The whole morning passed by without either of them interfering with each other's work; Rhysthought that maybe Jenna would find ways of bothering him but surprisingly everything remainedquiet between them both.
Finally, curiosity got the best of him and he glanced over at what she was doing on her computerscreen: taking notes during an online course session.
Rhys stood up and turned around while pouring coffee absentmindedly before sending Kamden amessage asking for help testing out whether or not Jenna really meant what she said about wantingnothing more than having children together or if there were ulterior motives behind all this.
Within seconds, Kamden replied back asking how exactly Rhys planned on testing things out whichleft him unsure about what steps needed taking next...
Rhys hesitated a bit. He not only wanted to test Jenna, but also wanted to drive her away and makeher take the initiative to divorce him.
As long as she offers to divorce, I can easily agree to it and avoid any responsibility even if mymother questions me later.
"Or, you could seduce her. You're so handsome; there are plenty of women who want to be withyou. As long as she's willing to divorce me, I'll even give you a villa."
This time, Kamden did not reply for a long time.
Kamden was wearing a white coat and constantly apologizing to patients, because upon readingthat piece of news, he was greatly shocked and accidentally sprayed water onto the patient's face.
After the patient left, Kamden looked at his phone and couldn't help but sigh. Rhys was really drivencrazy by his mother.
Asking a good friend to seduce one's own wife - was this something a normal person would do?
Just as I was thinking, Rhys called me.
"You may have given up on this. I am not so shameless. If this gets out, my reputation will beruined. If you really don't like her, just leave her alone. Maybe in three to five years, she will give upfirst."
Kamden answered the phone and immediately made his attitude clear, stating that he absolutelywould not do such a ridiculous thing.
"She?" Rhys immediately thought of Jenna studying in the office, "After she gets married andmoves in, she really has a leisurely life!"
With her mother-in-law supporting her at home, as a daughter-in-law of the Williams family, shedoesn't have to worry about money. Compared to her previous life, she is now living carefree days.
"Kamden, there's an auction coming up in a few days and I remember seeing an antique item that Iwas thinking of bidding on to give to you. It's a shame," Rhys said with feigned regret.
Kamden loves collecting all kinds of antique.
As the eldest son of the Jarvis family, if he hadn't fallen out with his family a year ago due to hisdreams and had his financial support cut off, he would never be short of this amount of money.
"Alright, I'll help you test her. This is my biggest concession. Don't think I'll sell out myself andseduce her!"
Kamden gritted his teeth and reluctantly agreed.
He really didn't want to take on this troublesome task, but he just couldn't refuse the antique.
Rhys had anticipated this outcome and hung up the phone satisfied.
