Chapter 882 The Punishment On A Rainy Night (Part Two)

After a long time, Harper put on her clothes and went to the cabinet. Upon seeing that, Matthew stoodup, and anxiously asked, "Where are you going?"

Without answering him, Harper opened the cabinet, took out a set of clothes, and put it on. Then shetook out a small medicine box and put it on the table. She impassively looked at him and said, "Take offyour clothes."

Without hesitation, Matthew did as she asked in a hurry. His blood had already dried. Yet, he took offhis clothes too abrasively. The wound that had stopped bleeding started to ooze out blood again.Looking at the wound on his body, Harper felt so worried and her eyes showed great concern. Shecleaned and bandaged the wound with medicine. During the entire time, Matthew didn't say anything ordare to cry out in pain. Earlier, he had the upper hand. However, because of his irrational behaviors, helost that so he couldn't even dare to say a word.

After dealing with Matthew's wound, Harper stated, "You can leave now."

"Okay, you should go with me. You are my wife, not Rolando's consort. You can't live here," Matthewsaid while he put on his clothes.

"I don't know if I care about your feelings. So it doesn't matter if I stay here or not," With a snort, Harpertook off her shoes, lay on the bed, and turned her back to him. It was obvious that she was still upsetand mad at him.

Matthew took off his shoes as well and lay on the bed. Regardless of Harper's refusal, he promptlydragged her into his arms. "I won't leave. Let's sleep now. I had been traveling day and night, andhaven't slept for several days."

Hearing that, Harper stopped struggling, as she was worried that she would hurt his wound again.Despite that, she didn't want to forgive him so easily. In the middle of trying to move away from

Matthew and being extremely distressed, Harper gradually fell asleep.

The next morning, when Harper woke up, she didn't saw anybody beside her. She sat up and noticedthat the bed sheet was clean. There wasn't a single drop of blood on it. She was wearing the cleanunderwear that she wore last night. Scanning around her room, she didn't find any trace of anyonecoming in there.

A look of confusion appeared in her eyes. Didn't Matthew come last night? Was she thinking aboutsomething else and having a dream? Was all of it an illusion? But the dream was too real. The feelingof the blood dripping from the wound on Matthew's body was also very real. With these thoughts inmind, Harper got up from the bed, stood in front of a bronze mirror, took off her clothes, and found nomark on her body!

"Is it really a dream?" Harper put on her clothes, looking more confused than ever. Soon enough,Rolando came to her palace and saw her standing in front of the bronze mirror in a daze.

"Harper, what's the matter? Did you sleep well last night?"

Harper nodded slightly. Whatever happened right then was so real, but there was no trace of it left. What the hell was going on? Had Matthew come to see her or not? Was everything that happened lastnight really a dream?

Rolando waved the box in his hand and said, "I've brought the Heavenly Book here."

Harper looked at Rolando in surprise. She couldn't believe he would bring the book to her so easily. She believed that he had ulterior motives or would make some unreasonable requests.

Instead of taking the box from him, she looked at him without any expression and asked, "What do youwant?"

"Will you give me whatever I want?" Rolando asked softly while looking intently at her.

Harper shook his head and said, "I can only give you anything that is within my capabilities."

Rolando smiled bitterly. "Get dressed and come out for breakfast. Let's talk while eating."

Looking at her clothes, Harper hid behind the screen and got dressed. After washing up, she thencame out. Rolando was already sitting at the table, pouring himself and Harper some porridge. "Take aseat. We have an imperial chef who can cook the local cuisine of the Bright Dynasty's imperial capital.Have a try and tell me if it suits your taste."novelbin

Harper sat down, took the porridge, and thanked Rolando. As usual, he then picked up more dishes forher and said, "Harper, have some more. You look thinner."

Harper only kept silent and ate her food because she knew that Rolando wouldn't easily give the bookto her. For certain, he must have a condition. Yet, she wouldn't agree to it unless she knew what it was.

When he noticed that Harper was kind of absent-minded, Rolando knew that she was on guard againsthim. She must be in fear that he would put forward some presumptuous demands. "I'll give you theHeavenly Book, but I have one request," he said.

Harper put down her bowl and chopsticks, looked at Rolando, and asked seriously, "What kind ofrequest?"

The smile on Rolando's face looked warm. "I'm sure you can do it. Tell me the contents recorded in thebook. Is that possible?"

"That's it? There's nothing else that you want?" Harper couldn't believe her ears. If he just wanted toknow the contents recorded in the book, she would certainly agree.

"Do you want me to have other requests?" Rolando asked in a low voice, staring at her.

"I promise you, it's the only thing I'm asking for." Averse to meet Rolando's affectionate eyes, Harperturned her head to avoid eye contact with him. She had to refuse his love as she was Matthew'swife.
