Chapter 827 The Treatment (Part One)

For the sake of Wendy's successful recovery, Harper had asked Shawn to prepare a room with goodlighting to be used during the entire treatment. After all, the surgery was complicated. She shouldn'tmake any mistake or else Wendy's life would be on the line. Just as so, Harper was actually committedin trying her best to keep Wendy safe.

With medicine boxes in her hands, Forsythia followed Harper on their way to Marquis Travis' mansion.Shawn and Hannah had actually been waiting very early at the entrance. As soon as they saw Harperin the distance, they approached her.

"Your Highness," Hannah greeted with a bow.

"Lady Hannah, Shawn." Harper greeted them back with a gentle smile.

"Your Highness, every requirement that you asked is ready." Meanwhile, Hannah looked very excited."Wendy will try her best to cooperate with the treatment."

Harper nodded. She glanced at the senior physician standing behind Hannah and slowly said, "SinceWendy is willing to cooperate, that's great. And please understand that during the treatment, no onecan stand by and watch. Of course, it goes without saying that no one can disturb me."

Hannah's face became a little stiff when she heard that. She turned to look at Darwin, the physician ofher mansion who was standing behind her. Darwin had worked for them for many years. He wasextremely ecstatic when he heard that Wendy's heart disease would be cured by Harper. He pleadedwith the family to let him watch Harper's process of treatment. Now that Harper said her conditions,Hannah didn't know how to react.

"Your Highness, although my medical skills are not as good as yours, I have been a physician for manyyears. If you allow me to be with you during the treatment, maybe I can be of help. Please allow me towatch the process." Darwin tried to persuade her.

With a smile on her face, Harper still looked like she wanted to refuse them. She needed to perform asurgery in order to treat Wendy. Nobody there could withstand watching a thoracic surgery. If someonewho witnessed the process was frightened, it would be a risk that might lead to Wendy's death. Shewouldn't be able to defend herself if such a fateful thing were to happen.

"I have already told you that I don't like others watching me while I'm treating my patients." Harper wasdetermined with her terms.

"Since Lady Harper doesn't like others to be there during the operation, please don't force her intochanging her mind. If you have any questions or concerns, I believe Lady Harper will certainly answeryou," Shawn immediately said to Darwin.

Hannah also agreed with him. "That's right, Lady Harper doesn't want to be disturbed during hertreatment. This process is very delicate and not a single mistake can be made. Just let her do it herselfin the way that she wants to."

Although Darwin really wanted to see the treatment, he knew that if Harper was so stern in refusing, there was no way that he would be granted access. Even though he could persuade Hannah, hewouldn't be able to even get close to Harper's treatment room. There must be countless of secretguards around her. If he were to take action, he would be killed by one of them before he could takeone step inside the room. Moreover, Shawn wouldn't allow him to do that. It seemed like everyone wasagainst his idea by then.

"If that's the case, can I help you in restoring Lady Wendy's health after your treatment? After all, I'vebeen taking care of Lady Wendy all this time. I know her physical condition very well. Will that be allright?" Darwin had no other choice but to give up what he initially wanted.

"No problem." Harper agreed to his request right away. As long as he wouldn't touch the wound, therewouldn't be a huge problem if he were to take charge of the recovery process after her surgery.

"Thank you very much, Your Highness."

Hannah then invited Harper inside. "This way, please, Your Highness." Wendy had already beenwaiting for her in the so-called ward. When she saw Harper, a calm smile on her delicate face instantlyappeared.

"Your Highness."

"Lady Wendy, it seems like you're ready for the treatment. I'm glad to see that. I hope that you willfinally have a normal life after the successful operation," Harper said with a smile.

"Thank you, Your Highness."

Harper then instructed Forsythia, "Help Lady Wendy take the anesthesia powder with water."

"Yes, My Lady." Forsythia immediately took out the anesthesia powder from the medicine box, added itto a bowl of water, and handed it to Wendy. "Lady Wendy, please take this medicine."

"What's this?" Wendy asked with a confused expression on her face. She didn't stretch out her hand totake the medicine.

"As a patient, you just need to obey what the physician says." The expression on Harper's face was stillgentle, but she didn't give Wendy the right to refuse. She must take the anesthesia powder. Otherwise, the extreme pain might kill her.

After hesitating for a while, Wendy finally took the bowl and drank it up. "What's the use of thismedicine?"

"It will help you have a good sleep during the treatment," Harper said with a wide smile.novelbin

With a frown, Wendy thought, 'Is it necessary to make me sleep during the treatment of my heartdisease? If yes, then why? What does Harper want to do?' For a second, Wendy wanted to regretdrinking the medicine, but it was too late. In no time, she could feel several figures standing in front ofher while her body was on the verge of collapse.

In a rush, Forsythia held Wendy in her arms and helped her lie down on the bed. Then, Harper openedthe concealed compartment of her medicine box. There was a set of tools in it. She then put on a pairof silk gloves and asked Forsythia to take off Wendy's clothes.

"Lady Wendy, can you hear me?" Harper called out, trying to see if she was responsive. When Wendydidn't move after a while, Harper announced, "We can start now."

Even though Forsythia truly believed in Harper's medical skills, she was too scared with everything thatthe surgery entailed that she couldn't move at all. She stood aside with her mouth open, not knowinghow to react. Her eyes were very wide while she was in total silence.
