“Not
caring enough to ask, huh?” Jonathan’s voice turned low and husky as he gazed into Estelle’s eyes in t
he darkness.
Estelle frowned and responded firmly, “I didn’t mean that.”
After a brief pause, she gathered her thoughts and posed a question, “Did you have a crush on Yvonne
in the past?”
Jonathan seemed taken aback by Estelle’s inquiry. After a moment of silence, he spoke slowly, “Yes, I d
id have feelings for Yvonne, but now we’re just friends.”
Estelle looked up, her expression filled with concern. “Can’t you see that she still has feelings for you?”
Jonathan lifted
her chin with his finger, “Charlie, Yvonne, and I have known each other since we were young. Yvonne
never
really made any special moves on me. If she did, I would definitely reject her. I promise that what you s
aw today will never happen again.”
Estelle nodded slightly, “Alright!”
Jonathan gently stroked her cheek, “How about we make our relationship public, so even if she has an
y thoughts, they’ll be gone!”
Estelle had a feeling that if Yvonne knew about their relationship, the Lamont family would
find out in no time.
Her current identity was a tutor for the Henson family. How would the Lamont family view her status? A
nd they would soon discover she was Bennett’s daughter.
She wasn’t sure if their relationship could continue like this once Jonathan found out about her true ide
ntity.

“Jonathan, will you marry me?” Estelle asked seriously.
Jonathan was taken aback, “You want to get married?”
Estelle bit her lip, “Answer me first, have you thought about marriage?”
Jonathan bent down and kissed the tip of her nose, his voice low and tempting, “Isn’t what we have righ
t now good enough? Besides, you haven’t even graduated from college yet. How about we think about
this after you graduate?”
“Do you hate being married?” Estelle asked.
Jonathan thought for a moment, “I guess so. Plus, I think that a relationship becomes complicated after
two people get married. I’ve told you before that I’ve been married
once. Did you know that? I’ve already divorced from the Macclain family, but not long
ago, my ex–father–in–
law came to my company, trying to use our previous relationship to get involved in a project that the La
mont Group just developed.
“Don’t even mention that I’ve already divorced his daughter;
even if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t keep indulging the Macclain family! I don’t want my feelings to be mixed with
business interests because once a gap forms between two people, they’ll eventually break up!”
Estelle’s eyes widened in shock. Bennett had actually sought out Jonathan once again?novelbin
Despite knowing that Jonathan had divorced his daughter, Bennett was still attempting to exploit their p
ast marriage for the benefit of the Lamont family.
While the surprise lingered, Estelle couldn’t help but feel a coldness creeping into her heart.
Bennett had portrayed himself as a loving father figure in front of her. Although he
did take her feelings into consideration, she couldn’t forget the formidable presence of the entire Maccl
ain family behind him.
If Bennett knew she married Jonathan, she almost didn’t even need to think to know that the Macclain f
amily would quickly look for Jonathan and get involved in more Lamont Group projects.
Bennett had never told the Macclain family about the marriage alliance with the Lamont Group for two r
easons. Firstly, the agreement required him to keep it a secret, and secondly, because Bennett underst
ood the Macclain family, he wanted to enjoy the benefits given by the Lamont family all by himself.
Jonathan tenderly caressed Estelle’s face, his voice filled with reassurance. “I understand that your fam
ily is uncomplicated, and we won’t have such complications. However, I’m not prepared for marriage at
this moment. So, please give me some time, and give yourself some time as
well. Once you graduate, if you still want to marry me, I will genuinely consider it. Does that sound fair?

The sudden urge within Estelle to reveal the truth dissipated instantly.
“No, it was just a passing thought,” Estelle replied, her gaze steady as she looked up at Jonathan. “Let’
s keep our relationship a secret from Yvonne, at least for now.”
Jonathan remained silent for a moment before giving a nod. “Alright.”
Estelle leaned her forehead against Jonathan’s neck, her countenance now completely relaxed.
