Chapter 294

Chapter 294

Estelle asked Hans to continue playing the game for her and walked into the living room.

Elizabeth tentatively asked, “Do you know Mr. Lamont?”

Everyone’s eyes fell on her, filled with doubt, questioning, and uneasiness… especially Sabina, who sta

red at Estelle intently.

Carmella’s gaze flickered, glancing at Simone and slowly clenching her hand.

Bennett, the one who was both the most clear and confused about Estelle’s and Jonathan’s relationshi

p, knew that Jonathan didn’t like Estelle and had called off the engagement. But then, what did Millard

mean just now?

As he was hesitating whether to tell everyone about Estelle’s relationship with the Lamont family, he su

ddenly heard Estelle say, “I used to be a tutor in the Lamont family.”

Everyone stared at Estelle with wide eyes. Sabina secretly breathed a sigh of relief and lowered her ga

ze. Carmella’s tense face also relaxed without a word.

So, she was just a tutor in the Lamont family!

Bennett immediately said, “That’s right. I just said that Estelle had always been a tutor. I just forgot to m

ention she was a tutor in the Lamont family.”

“Why didn’t you say that earlier?” Elizabeth looked at Bennett reproachfully, then she smiled at Estelle.

“How did you end up tutoring for the Lamont family?”

Estelle explained, “I was a classmate of Mr. Lamont’s niece.”

With that explanation, everything was clear. Elizabeth’s attitude became even more amiable, “I knew ou

r Macclain family’s daughters couldn’t be wrong. Tutoring is decent work. Quit your other job, and if you

don’t have enough money, just talk to grandma!”

Though she’s just a

tutor, given Millard’s attitude just now, the Lamont family treated Estelle quite politely and seemed quite

close. Elizabeth took a closer look at Estelle’s

face. Her delicate features were quite pleasing and made her the most beautiful among her granddaug

hters.

No matter if Jonathan liked Sabina or Estelle, they both belonged to the Macclain family.

That way, the relationship with the Lamont family seemed to have gotten closer.

Estelle’s face was calm and unaffected. “Yes, I will be quitting the job at Midnight Bar soon.”

Elizabeth nodded in satisfaction and looked at Simone. “You should also care more about Estelle. After

all, you’re her biological mother!” Carmella suddenly looked up, her gloomy gaze sweeping back and fonovelbin

rth between Estelle and Simone. In fact, Elizabeth’s words were just a reminder for Simone to care mor

e about Estelle. But what Carmella thought was that Elizabeth was telling Simone that Estelle

was her only daughter!

Simone awkwardly nodded, “Yes, I know!”

Estelle suddenly felt

like laughing. Her status in the Macclain family was nothing compared to Millard’s simple remark.

Natalia, standing behind Elizabeth with a sullen face, wondered how Estelle, who nobody liked, had su

ddenly taken all the attention that should have been Sabina’s?

Especially when she saw Leonie’s ambiguous smile, it felt like she was gloating over their misfortune!

Isn’t she just a tutor? Can that even compare to the closeness of being a CEO’s secretary?

Natalia sneered in her heart, disgusted with Elizabeth and Terrence’s fickleness!

During dinner, Elizabeth specifically asked someone to arrange Estelle’s seat closer to her. Estelle, not

used to being stared at by everyone, she chose to sit in a less conspicuous spot.

Hans asked Estelle puzzledly, “Why are grandma and the others suddenly being so nice to you? Did th

ey find out that you’re amazing?”

Estelle didn’t know why Hans was so persistent in thinking she was amazing but didn’t explain, just sayi

ng, “Haha, probably!”

Hans looked smug. “I told you, they’d find out you’re amazing sooner or later!”

Estelle just smiled, not responding.

After dinner, Estelle went to

the restroom. As she was washing her hands, Sabina came in, standing beside her to touch up her ma

keup.

“Just focus on being a tutor and don’t even think of unrealistic things. Don’t embarrass us!”

Estelle looked at the cold and arrogant Sabina in the mirror, narrowed her eyes and said softly, “Just fo

cus on being a secretary. Work and family matters are separate, and it’s not up to you to decide!”

Sabina’s face darkened, and her eyes seemed somewhat sharp. “Estelle, I’m telling you this for your o

wn good. Even I wouldn’t dare have any improper thoughts about Jonathan.”

Estelle wanted to say, “The things you don’t dare to do, I’ve already done it!”
