Chapter 1945

Estelle took a deep breath and turned back into the grand hall.

Lambert found her, his smile casual and charming, "Where'd you disappear to, Estelle? You had me

looking all over for you."

Estelle looked at him and said, "Mr. Brennan, let's get one thing straight. We've got a strictly

professional relationship. While we're here in Zion, I'll ensure your safety, but as for my personal affairs,

that's none of your business."

Leaning casually against a marble pillar, Lambert raised an eyebrow. "I admit I was wrong selling you

out before. I've repented before the Almighty, I swear, and I've done everything I can to make amends.

Can't you give me another chance?"

"No!" Estelle replied curtly and turned to leave.

Lambert hurried after her, "Rella, I'm in danger right now!"

Estelle didn't stop. "What danger?"

"That Alvis has been eyeing me like he's up to something. You need to make sure I'm safe!" Lambert

insisted.

Stopping abruptly, Estelle turned to him with a cold laugh, "Don't worry, Alvis doesn't have such, shall I

say, diverse tastes."

"How would you know? Are you familiar with him?"

"I’m thinking like any sane person would!"

"But he's not just anyone; he's Alvis!"

Annoyed by his blabber, Estelle snapped, "Then why don't you just give in to him?"

"No way, I'm into women, not men!" Lambert shook his head vehemently, "I've got to carry on the

Brennan lineage!"

Estelle felt a nearly irresistible urge to kick him where it would end that his lineage once and for all!

Jonathan watched Lambert and Estelle together, frowning deeply. He pulled out his phone and sent a

message: Dig up everything on Lambert. I want all his details.

Sylvia watched the man's brooding look and let out a low chuckle, "Shall I take care of it?"

"No need," Jonathan replied, his voice cool with a hint of disdain, "My Ella wouldn't give him a second

glance."

He spoke with confidence, but a frosty glint flickered in his narrow eyes. The silver spoon he twirled in

his hand made a chilling sound against the fine china.

Sylvia pretended not to notice the contradiction between his words and his expression, sincerely

saying, "I must say, I envy the relationship you and Estelle have!"

A trace of warmth that was hard to catch shimmered in Jonathan’s eyes as he looked at Estelle’s

silhouette and let out a soft sigh.

Regardless of everything, he was now by her side.

The worry and anxiety that had nearly driven him mad over the past few days were finally starting to

subside.

She was safe, and that was all that mattered!

As the banquet reached its midpoint, the women steered clear of Alvis and, in the know of Lambert’s

flirtatious reputation, surrounded him instead, hoping to win his favor.

This was a game Lambert usually excelled at, but today his mind was elsewhere, wandering the hall in

search of Estelle.

Once, he would have demanded Estelle to stay close to him in his role as her employer.

But after betraying her, he felt guilty and dared not make any such bold requests anymore.

Lambert shook her hand briefly, touching his eyepatch, "Have we met before? You seem familiar, Ms.

Beverly."

Lambert's brown eyes twinkled with amusement, "Ms. Beverly, you're quite captivating yourself."

She blinked flirtatiously, "Why don't we find a quiet place to talk? I've been quite intrigued by you, Mr.

Brennan, and I've been hoping for a chance to get to know you better." Content of Drаm??ovels.cоmnovelbin

Lambert's gaze flickered with interest as he stood up, "Sounds good to me!"

He didn't believe Alvis's companion would actively pursue him without a reason. Could it be that Alvis

wanted to talk privately?

He had felt that Alvis's gaze on him was more than just casual interest.

Once entering the room, Lambert was taken aback.
