Chapter 1600

Chapter 1600

Jonathan said, “I initially wanted to help her settle things with her father, but then I thought it might be

better if you do it. I figured Emily’s father would eventually

turn to you.”

Charlie replied, “But even if the problem is solved, she might not change her mind. She’s stubborn

enough to make anyone want to scold her.”

Jonathan poured himself half a glass of whiskey and said in a calm voice, “Emily thinks too much. Just

give her some time.”

Charlie looked at him with a deep gaze, “The issues in her family aren’t really a big deal. It’s just that

she never trusted me from the start.”

Jonathan slowly swirled the whiskey in his glass, “She worries too much probably because she cares.

She is afraid of causing you trouble, and afraid of things not turning out well in the end.”

Charlie smirked, “She doesn’t know that those words she said are what truly hurt me

Jonathan said, “Emily’s upbringing has shaped the way she thinks and makes decisions. If you love

her, you need to accept everything about her

Charlie’s eyes deepened, revealing a hint of helplessness.

Jonathan clinked his glass with his, smiled faintly and said, “Emily’s distrust towards you has its

reasons. You reaped what you sowed.”

He looked at Kya in Charlie’s arms and smiled meaningfully, “Think of it as going through trials. As long

as Kya likes you, you and Emily will eventually be together” Charlie frowned, his tone low, “But I feel

uneasy. I have a bad feeling.”

Jonathan thought for a moment and asked, “If Emily marry you, would your mother accept her?”

Charlie looked up. “My mom might be a bit more controlling than yours. But as long as I insist, she

won’t be too domineering.”

“What’s there to worry about then?” Jonathan took a sip of his whiskey and smiled, “You just need to

break through Emily’s wall.”

Charlie raised an eyebrow, feeling that breaking through Emily’s wall would be the most challenging

When Magdalen was chatting gwith Estelle, she received a call from Kevin.

Kevin’s voice was clear, “Magdalen, where are you? Let’s watch Ryan’s game tonight. I’ve prepared

your favorite crawfish and fresh beer.” Magdalen said, “I don’t have time tonight. I’m with Ella and the

others.

“Where are you?”

“9th Mansion!”

“Then I’ll come to you. There’s still three hours before the game. If you drink, I’ll drive you home.”

Magdalen readily agreed, “Okay, come over!”

Estelle watched as Magdalen hung up and asked, “Who was that?”

“Kevin. He’s coming over to hang out with us. He invited me to his place to watch the game tonight,”

Magdalen chuckled.

Estelle gave her a light look, “You’re not going. And you’re not drinking tonight. I’ll take you home later”

“Why?” Magdalen slung an arm around Estelle’s shoulder, laughing nonchalantly, “I know my limits.

Kevin and I just share common interests. I don’t have any

intentions towards a kid!”

Estelle shot her a glance, “You may not have intentions, but what about him?”

“Him?” Magdalen laughed, “Even less likely. I’m four years older than him!”

Estelle didn’t argue with her further. Anyway, she was determined to take her back to Morrison’s place

tonight.

About half an hour later, Magdalen answered a call and walked out.

Kevin was waiting for her outside. Seeing her come out, he flashed a charming smile, I don’t know any

of your friends, so I won’t go in. Let’s go to my place and wait for the game

“They’re all my friends Even Ella is there. Let’s go in and say hi Magdalen pulled him towards the

private room, “Why are you being shy all of a sudden?”

Tm not being shy There’s nothing to talk about with friends I don’t know I just want to watch the game

with you,” Kevin laughed cheerfully
