When Magdalen received a call from Estelle to gather for a meet-up, she wanted to invite Morrison.
However, he was busy with a meeting, so she drove to pick up Emily and Kya first.
Arriving at the 9th Mansion, Magdalen carried Kya into the private room. Charlie, Carson, and the

He stretched out his hand to pick up Kya. “Come play with me, I’ve got some tasty treats for you.”
Kya saw Charlie and a look of pure joy spread across her face. But remembering Emily’s words, she
didn’t run over to him as she usually did. Instead, she let Carson hold her.
Emily watched as Kya was carried away by Carson. When she turned to look at Charlie, their eyes met,

“Amiee?” Magdalen extended her hand, I’m Magdalen, Estelle’s friend. She often talks about you.”

Magdalen laughed, “What exactly have you heard about me? That I’m rude and unreasonable?”

“Just kidding!” Magdalen flashed a bright smile and walked further into the room with Emily and Amiee.
Meanwhile, Carson had placed Kya next to Charlie and asked Andrew to grab some candies and
pastries that kids usually like.
Charlie held Kya in his arms, his face softened, “Why didn’t you call out to me?”
“Uncle Charlie!” Kya murmured, clinging onto his shoulders. She buried her face in his chest, locking a
bit upset
Charlie felt a pang in his heart, and held Kya tighter, “Tm sorry, I’ve been too busy lately to visit you.”
Tears welled up in Kya’s eyes, “Mommy said you won’t come to see me anymore. Is that true?”
“No!” Charlie gently patted her head, “How could I not visit you? Once I’m done with my work, I’ll come
over to play with you.”
“I want to hear your stories.”
“Sure!” Charlie smiled, “By the way, the cuckoo is all healed up now. Grandma said you should come
over to see it. Would you like to?”
Kya’s eyes sparkled, “Yes!”
“Then, when we have time, I’ll take you home to see the cuckoo”
Carson, who had been listening to their conversation, felt a sudden wave of emotion, Charlie, I feel like
Kya is your daughter. Seriously, I have a strong feeling about

Andrew brought over a fruit platter and some desserts. Everyone began playing with Kya, who was

comfortable and started laughing heartily.
Charlie held Kya in his arms, and for the first time in days, he felt at peace.
